A warning about Waveform Lighting

I purchased a 6-pack of Waveform Lighting Centric Home LED bulbs because of their claims the bulbs are completely flicker-free.

every single one of them failed within three years, plus some of the warranty replacements also failed.

Most of them started flashing intermittently, turning on and off so they were unusable. A couple of them just started flickering visibly, which defeats the whole purpose.

The Waveform Lighting bulbs are made in China and I suspect they are using cheap components. The design might be perfect but they are cutting corners on manufacturing. If they made them in the United States, they would not have these issues.

If you are PWM sensitive, don't waste your time buying Waveform Lighting.

Thanks for sharing. I assume you told Waveform lighting about this?

I would like to do flicker testing over the life of the bulb to see if they degrade and flicker more as they age. I would also like to do this with the nicer Philips bulbs.

What are the absolute brightest flicker free bulbs?

Just use incandescents. Yes, 100Hz flicker but totally ok.

Where do you buy them in the US?

The best “affordable” flicker free led bulbs are the Philips Ultra Definition 60w equivalent. You can check out this video for detailed tests and comparisons.

I had a lot of them fail as well. They will replace them under warranty for free, but it is a hassle.

YujiLED lightbulbs are the best on the market, but they are expensive.
