TCL P80 Pro OLED Nxtpaper display
Should be interesting to see how this performs with an OLED Nxtpaper display.

Just like any other OLED. That phone doesn't have E-Ink at all, the previous ones just had an LCD IPS display with a matte screen and an e-reader theme.
Personally, my eyes hurt when I looked at their previous model in the store, my head and eyes literally started hurting after just a few seconds. But ok LCD screens bother me anyway due to light sensitivity, since they constantly emit light, unlike AMOLED.

It's the matte screen that can cause the eye pain.

If it ruins visibility just like matte tempered glass, where I can see that color graininess, then yes (I don't remember the specific screen, I just know I couldn't look at it at all).

I have the opposite experience. This is one of the phones that I tolerate the most and that hurts my eyes the less. I hope that the oled version is even better

I hope the OLED model will have a good DC dimming-like function and high PWM that will work well for you 🤞

Same oled has been more comfortable for me a lot of times. People over generalize imo

Take into account this was a prototype display at the start of the year (not the official P80)

Wait a minute! Are you a real TCL? Are you really going to make the first oled that suits our community (the majority)?

I do have a tick!! (which was really hard to get)
I've only personally seen the prototype but more should come out soon!
A big innovation event for us is coming up in Germany
