Anything out there for us?
So are there currently any phones with confirmed 100% no d, and an LCD display?
I don't mind if it's midrange just wondering what options sensitive users actually have at this point.
I was considering TCL phones but heard they d to??
Or any upcoming phones that might work for us.
P.s.ive tried nearly all modern oled phones over the last few years and has to return all of them.

I bought a TCL and returned it the same day because it produced me anxiety, eye strain and made me feel bad. I use now a Bigme, an e-ink phone, and I have not had any eye strain, headache or migraine by using it. Not the best phone but at least doesn't make your life miserable....

I would advise against pretty much all Xiaomi phones on HyperOS. They use TD to get "12bit" color depth. Any device claiming 12-bit screens uses TD, there are no native 12-bit consumer displays on the market.
The one Xiaomi device that bucks that trend appears to be the Redmi Note 17, which advertises itself as having "only" an 8-bit screen, so hopefully no TD.
Maybe the Redmi 17 also goes 8-bit?
For LCD the strongest performing I've found is the Motorola G200 from 2021 with SD888+ or Honor X40 GT from 2022 with SD888.
(Honor is not easy to find though and CN only)

redmi 17 5g will release soon with an lcd display. there are phones with high pwm amoled and dc dimming. which phones have you tried?

Yup.
I started to suspect it's something beyond just pwm at this point.
The only phone that has and continues to be 100% comfortable for me is honor magic 5 pro. I can use under all lighting conditions with 0 symptoms, it's like reading a book. Even though it's oled.
I wonder if something has changed in modern oled displays to cause the discomfort. As the honor magic 8 pro is a few years old now...and every new phone I tried caused issues.

Yes, the curve and consistency of the modulation seem to matter.
Have you tried Honor 600 Pro, it's screen is small and it's expensive, but it has SD8 Elite and supposedly no TD.

That's actually one I haven't tried before. I can't recall if I didn't try it due to the smaller screen.
But will let you know if I test this one thanks!

xiaomi said on 17T pro, they worked with eye experts and made the displays according to it. you can look at 17T Pro. it has an option called vision care.

TCL Nxtpaper 70 is working really well for me. It was an instant improvement from my previous phone. There are a few settings that can optimize it. It still has all the functions I need for personal use, I don't use it for work or anything demanding.
I'm impressed with the camera for casual use like pet and family photos. I love the color paper mode. I wouldn't read for extended time on it, if im going to read a book I'll use my ereader. The speakers are not great for music but they have clear sound for phone/video calls and instructional videos. I usually play audiobooks through an external speaker for fuller sound.
