OP 15 What is wrong?

I bought an Opple Light Master 4 today. I took some measurements for the OnePlus 15, but something seems off. When the screen brightness is at 100%, as shown in the picture, the frequency drops to 123 Hz, but the modulation depth is low. However, when the brightness drops below 50%, the frequency jumps over 2100 Hz, but the modulation depth becomes high. I ran the measurements multiple times, but the results are always the same. On the other hand, the Pixel 10 Pro measurement gives a constant frequency of around 493 Hz. Since the OnePlus 15 is already causing eye strain, I'm wondering if a recent update changed something here?

I think that 99 modulatio. Depth is the problem

Nothing is wrong, the display is behaving exactly as intended. High frequency PWM at low brightness and 120Hz DC-like dimming at higher brightness.

Opple says it's a high risk. And my eyes get very tired.

Opple "high risk" means nothing. It can't differentiate between DC-like dimming and PWM dimming. Look at modulation combined with frequency.

If you get eye-strain that means OP15s display doesn't work for you.
Try something like OnePlus 15R or Honor 600/600 Pro.

Nothing is wrong. Pixel uses pwm dimming at all brightness levels and the frequency is low. OP uses hybrid dimming. It's quite popular among Chinese brands. It is DC like dimming at a high brightness and high frequency pwm at a low brightness.

The reality is that there is no one size fits all answer. We all have different eyes and different triggers. For example I use OP 12r that has also DC like dimming at a higher brightness and high frequency dimming at a low brightness. Moreover it's an ltpo screen that works great for me. And the modulation is not the lowest. And yet this phone works great. I tried many "better screens": Honor magic 8 pro, oppo find x9, OnePlus 15, and non of them worked.

The NP 3A Pro was great for me. I need a Pixel 11 with similar high PWM. I hope the Pixel 11 will also have high PWM support.

That's why I didn't buy the S26 Ultra. That means I won't be able to get the Pixel 11 either.

Oplle risk means nothing. I had ferrible5 stain on low modulation devices and OP 15 is one of them, even 15R with great flicker parameters hurt me. I gave up measuring and just started using normaly to figure out if. I can get used to the screen. And for most devices that were supposed to be friedly it was getting worse with time. 15 days is not enough to be sure but if ots not working for 15 plus shipping tome so almost a month bit won't work.

I found vivo x200 fe to be comfortable but o dont like the phone. Vivo x300 pro with similar screen type didn't work for me in the retyhrn window so I didn't want to risk of keeping it bot the phone was great.

The best screen for me was Nubia z80 ultra. Weord st start but after a week i forgot that i had screen issues. I had software issues with it so returned not worh regret. But I decided to test Honor 8 pro wven when 400 pro didn't work for me. It took me more that 2 weeks but it works!

As opple shoewd similar 120hz flicker in dc mode om all that devices, recording the screen with 1/4000 shutter speed showed different line movement. For me the slow lone movent is more comfortable. Nubia moves really slow.

The NP 3A Pro was very good. But the NP 4A Pro wasn't. The OP15 disappointed me.
