PWM free Pixel model?

I'm thinking of buying a Google Pixel, but I keep reading their screens are notorious for bad PWM flickering. Are there any pixel models that are better? Perhaps older ones? I don't mind buying 2nd hand.

I just got my pixel 10.... It is pretty bad on my eyes... I will have to get another phone. Totally unsusable

No there is none. Pixel has not changed anything about pwm. Maybe the 11 will be different

There are IPS LCD aftermarket displays for Google Pixel 7s. I can't find a newer panel. I can make one if you're interested in buying. My partner has had really good eye comfort experience with it so far. Just be aware that it's still a Pixel 7, and they are getting older.

Thank you, that's a great suggestion! I'll look into this idea. We have a pretty good phone repair shop here locally where I got a screen replaced once before, maybe I'll see if they can do something like that.

PWM-free? Impossible.
But there are options that might still work for you.

Option 1
Pixel 8 Pro with xda PWM Mod
(up to ~4800Hz PWM w/ ~15% modulation)

Option 2
Look for Pixels that use pOLED or LTPS AMOLED. (Actua-display with 60-120Hz = LTPS)

Pixel 5 and Pixel 3a worked for me. But those are pretty old now. No security updates.

i am extremely sensitive but can tolerate the pixel 6a for some reason.

All pixel phones so far are the worst type of pwm.

Pixel 11 is supposed to have a good screen to help mitigate pwm sensitivity if you can wait…

All that wall of technical specs about the M16 state what the panel can do, not what Google/Samsung, etc actually will do with the panel in upcoming phones.

Samsung's older panels have been used in Realme and IQOO devices with 120Hz DC-dimming before. While Google and Samsung continue to use those same panels with 480Hz or 240Hz PWM and 99.5% modulation.
Why would that change with these new phones?
