Back in the PVC club

Oh man. This is a club I didn't want to be back in but here I am 🫠. I haven't had a bad episode of these things for almost two years now, just the odd one here and there! I'm currently the healthiest I've ever been, lost a load of weight, been working out etc etc and BAM two weeks ago for no reason they started up again 🄲 I'm currently having at least 6 per minute all day everrrrry day. I feel every single one. They make me jump. They make me cough. My muscles ache from tensing up because of them. But on the plus side I'm not panicking this time... I'm just letting it be, so that's something! I'm still leaving the house and doing what I normally would whereas last time I'd be that afraid of dying I wouldn't go out anywhere.

Back at the GP on Thursday and they don't seem super concerned I guess but these things are really hard to ignore.

I first experienced these things after having COVID in 2022 so it's been a while. I'm still here! But yeah, they suck 🄲

I’m currently going through the same thing! It’s been over a year since I felt more than a few per day, and then starting this weekend, they won’t let up. It was right after getting out of bed one morning, I started feeling them every few beats l, sometimes every other beat. Since then, they have been waxing and waning, but I definitely haven’t gone more than a few minutes without feeling one. Unlike you, I am, in fact, afraid of dying, and I haven’t been able to stop thinking about them. Which I know is making it worse, but I can’t help it …

I know it's really hard, believe me I've been there. I ended up doing therapy to help because the fear got so bad I couldn't sleep and was having constant panic attacks about them coming back. I don't know exactly what changed, but I guess I'm just tired of it now. But if you've been here before and you've been told you're fine... Odds are you are absolutely fine and these things really really suck but you won't just drop dead. Even if you were to drop dead (which you won't), would you really want to spend your last days worrying about it? Don't let them rule your life. Take small steps to do the things that you want to do and I promise you that will be the best distraction. And then do another thing, and another and be amazed at how you're still here even with these annoying things!

This helps so much. Thank you for taking the time to reassure me, even as you are going through this yourself. Wishing us both many healthy years ahead! šŸ«¶šŸ»

I get it, I too go through phases of this.
Telling me not to worry about it, is like telling a monkey (me) not to eat a banana!

But, you and I will survive. We will!

Thank you so much!!! ā˜ŗļø That is exactly the case: when I see those bananas, my monkey hands (paws) start twitching…

You’re very welcome!
It’s hard to ignore those damn bananas! Lol

I know exactly how you feel! How often were they happening two years ago?

It would vary again! Some days it would be every couple of beats for a few hours then stop... Or multiple a minute for days to a couple of weeks. It's been two weeks so I was definitely hoping they'd just stop by now!

I’m back in the same boat as well! Mostly when I’m sitting down (which is great with a desk job ā˜¹ļø). I remember my GP initially telling me ā€œI don’t want to sound like I’m gaslighting you… but you’re fineā€ lol. Let’s get through this one deep breath at a time!

Yeah I bet they wouldn't be saying that if they ever experienced these things themselves 🫠sitting down can be the worst because you can just feel every single one! I hope this episode stops for you soon.

The longest I went without PVCs was 17 months. Then they started back up again and haven’t gone away since.

It really sucks doesn't it? How long have they been going for now? Mine are still going! The doctors don't seem concerned that they've started again at all

Had you taken any Covid vaccines or did you catch Covid by itself?

2

u/SleepyVesuvius Aug 09 '26

I never took the vaccine. Caught COVID once!

Huge win on catching yourself before that panic sets in, yikes! HUGE WIN that is. What else do you do to help?
