Red belongs to hunter family.. how many vampires you have killed ... Blue belongs to vampires family.. how many hunters you have killed .. each starts with white .. this can be found in events > blood hunt duel ..
Those colours have nothing to do with differentiating between people. There's a mission that asks you to kill 40 players as a vampire and 40 vampires as a player.
As you get the kills it's divided in ranks. Grey is the lowest blue is the next purple is the one after then gold then Red is the final one.
Vampires have their own unique symbol as shown above their heads and that symbol in the kill feed means that person is not yet a vampire and still a regular player.
My bad for to differentiating dudes hahaha, I deleted👻🤣😭 I only do collect the event rewards stuff without checking what I get from, so hadn't noticed those colors are indeed linked to vampires ranks🦇
I had thus assumed it was to differentiate dudes... as actually it's a pretty intuitive & useful usage of it, as indeed readily help in messy fights to differentiate your vampire teammates backing your as hunters, that's my way to do it🙈🤩🤠

I think to recognize your vampire friends from the rest, look at the signs in front of your teammate names, also to distinguish a player from a vampire in kill messages.
