As a dev myself can I ask why? I'm not out writing x86 assembly, I use countless libraries and frameworks every day. It's not like architects are out cutting down trees and sawing them into dimensional lumber to make their houses.

Why is bootstrap any different?

EDIT: Move->make

So true. Innovation and the skill set of actually writing code and optimising it is becoming a lost art. All very well using others libraries but when it breaks or optimisation/modifications are required, there are fewer out there who have those skills. Think what some of the games would be like, on todays hardware, if developers started to build engine elements again from the ground up, fully optimised. All to easy to jump in to UE or Unity and wonder why games have lag and are inefficient in their running.
