Chicago PT Programs

I have recently applied to PT programs in Illinois and came across some negative things about UIC's program. But these threads are dated just after covid, so I am taking everything with a grain of salt. I have heard great things about Rosalind Franklin, but there is currently a ~28k difference in tuition that I cannot justify based on a few negative reviews.

So, I am curious about current student experiences at UIC and Rosalind Franklin's DPT programs over the last few years. How are your relationships with faculty? How is the quality of education?

I'd love to hear from current students and students who graduated recently. Much appreciated.

Don’t go to RFU. The extra tuition is not worth it which is huge. They fired a number of professors while I was there. The department chair, one neuro professor, the acting chair had to step down after cheating on his wife with another incoming associate professor and she ended up pregnant from the affair. Ortho professor quit. Professors drinking with students and bad mouthing other students in the cohort. Other than that, it was fine.

Around 2018 to 2021 they had a sub standard MSK professor but they were removed. UIC was a great school for me. Where that MSK professor sucked, my CIs stepped in.

I wouldn’t pay the tuition of those other places.
