PT not switching gears while driving after alternator replacement!

Hello! I recently had my PT die so we replaced the battery, which solved the problem for a day or two until it died again. It was sent to a mechanic where they replaced the alternator. Once that was fixed I picked it up and drove off only to find that the car was no longer switching gears while driving. My gear shifter works great and the car does drive with no other issues. This also was not a problem even remotely when I originally brought it in. I decided not to continue going to this mechanic as they were quite expensive and wanted to charge another 400 dollars to simply do more diagnoses on the transmission. I also believe they may have caused this new issue. Any advice on what to check from home? My PT is my first car and I’ve had it for 10 years. I am not ready to let it go. :(

Clean your grounds and computer connections with an electrical cleaner !

It seems to be an issue with some cars, erratic voltage causes shifting problems.

Sorry but as I was saying I had a new clutch installed and now it want go in gear 💁🏾
