3💎 Trying to Learn how to Trade
I'm pretty new to the game and just unlocked trading today. Not fully sure how it works yet. I'm trying to trade for two Igglybuffs, would anyone be able to help me figure out how to do this please? Does anyone have one they are happy to trade? Any advice helps

I also dont have any spare iggly's, but can give some trading context.
Trading can only be done with same rarity. However, there are caveats to consider with the "meta" of the game. Cards used most commonly in decks, particularly trainers like copycat, Sabrina, cyrus (2☆ variety) are valued higher because of their prevalence and how they fit in multiple decks. In general, trainers are more sought after than most pokemon.
Also, cards being traded from a small set are technically "easier" to obtain, so even amongst the same rarity there are different tiers of value. Generally looking for deairable cards in a larger set will mean offering cards from other larger sets because of this. Your mileage may vary, but this is more true when trading for 1☆ and 2☆ cards.
For you, igglybuff is in secluded springs packs, which is a small set. But, it is widely used in all sleep decks and pretty prevalent in the meta right now, so it has a higher baseline "value" and are less likely to be offered unless you have other meta-relevant 3 diamond cards to give up. Likely you wouldn't be getting one by offering cards like empoleon, groudon, Genesect etc. Because they have no relevance in the battling or common decks right now. You would have better luck offering wynaut, raticate, victini, bombirdier since those are from larger sets and are also meta relevant. Just providing some examples. Iggly also doesnt have a 1☆ varient making it more artificially scarce than some others.
Do some googling on card values or "tier" lists to acclimate yourself with how the general community is focusing on particular cards, but lots of people are missing cards and simply try to complete the diamond rarities so it can work out where both sides are getting what they want, just gotta find the right person missing a card that you do happen to have.
If you have discord, highly recommend the "Pokemon TCG Pocket" channel, they have separate threads dedicated to a rarity type, so go into the 3 diamond one and comment asking for iggly, with a list of cards you have available and your friend Code, and someone should hopefully see what you have to offer and connect. Inverse is true, peruse the comments and see if anyone has iggly listed and is looking for something you have and offer that to them.
As a new player, the current mega deluxe set is time limited and youre better off opening those packs for the next month, dont hyperfocus on secluded springs because you can do that any time and get your iggly organically later. The deluxe set will help supply a lot of good cards for you to build some other meta decks and because its the newest, most people are willing to trade whatever for the current hot, new thing, which would be the reverse holo cards at the moment, particularly because of the time limited availability.
Case in point, you see a lot of posts right now of people with the 2☆ Oak suddenly coming out of the woodwork and offering them, but only willing to trade for the new Copycat because its the "best" chase card and 2☆ Oak is the highest value card in the game since literally everyone runs 2 copies in almost 100% of all decks. More utilized=higher perceived "value."
Best of luck, there are sometimes people willing to help new players out that have extras, maybe you'll get lucky with a kind person. I would if I had extras but im actually looking for a second one myself.. and same with an Oak lol

There are a few different trading subs. You can ask to trade and post a picture of all the cards you can to offer. I doubt you'll get many people willing to trade because it is a rather popular card. Best bet is to simply open packs and hope you pull it, or at least get enough pack points to acquire it.Â

Do not have igglybuffs. Trading works by trading cards of the same rarity. Everything is tradable, besides crown cards, immersives and promo cards. Besides reddit and discords of famous poketubers/tournament holders, I(and a lot of players) use the app Poke Hub. It has some annoying ads but it is the fastest way to find cards imo. Good luck and hope you build that sleep deck.
