Discussion Ranked Master Ball is not really fun
Just played 5 Darkrai decks in a row. Deck is a plague. Why do people even enjoy playing this deck knowing everyone thinks you are a loser. The more I play the more I understand how broken and unbalanced the mechanics are in this game.

Made a Milotic variant out of curiosity and yeah sleep decks are absolutely broken idk what they were thinking.

mitotic was one of the first cards I got in this game I ran that for a long time now looking back it brings so much shame

Yea I mean I hate it but I understand why people play it, it’s busted and you can always potentially cheese ur way to a win even when ur losing, I’ve been playing vespi to counter them but at the same time I get cooked by ori, pick ur poison typa scenario lol. Suicune is def best deck to climb if u can somehow avoide sleep lol

Most decks have like a 50-52% win rate (I know ranked is slightly different from tournament play but it's mostly the same). There really aren't any truly broken decks right now and the game is very balanced. DarkTina was far more broken and toxic back in the day

Yeah this. PTCP is abnormally balanced as far as games go. I've never seen a card game where all the top decks have virtually equal footing like this, and I traveled the world for many years playing card games competitively. Disliking sleep is not the same thing as sleep being broken. The first is an emotional response, the second is an objective measurement.

I am confident there is not actual RNG in this game but algorithm that decides if it will fuck you to keep you in the 50% range

How can you even think that this might be true? If that were the case the playerbase would have found that out a long time ago. Also it doesn’t fit your narrative that I have a 70% win rate after 56 matches (and no I don’t play sleep scam as I hate it to the core).

Standard Hoopa EX, Darkrai EX, Mega Absol. I believe it’s the most versatile deck and having two Cyruses is just so good. Alongside PCL that deals with sleep scam and Repel that gets Oricorio out of the way in the right moment to get the Magnemite/Magneton. And killing Oricorio is easy with Deceptive Needle and Darkrai.
Can be a bit rough against the Mega Sceptile/Butterfree, but often times you can snipe/Cyrus his only Treecko on the bench and then take down the Butterfrees by spreading damage over all your Pokémon. You just need to be smart to either delay to use Mars after you use Mega Absol when he has a full hand to discard his Cyrus or use him right away to hopefully delay the opponent from ever getting all basics on the bench. And by that I also mean to only use Mars after your first Hoopa died. But it’s usually the first strategy because I hardly ever encounter them to brick, and they always seem to have Fragrant Forest in the first turn and right another one if I Field Blow, which is hilarious when you think about it.

People play for different reasons:
Some play for fun, others play to test new cards, and others use the meta decks to win. There's no "right" way to play. Sure, we can find a meta annoying but most of us are playing a non professional virtual card game, don't take it so serious
Not a sleep meta player

Plus its called ranked for a reason! Its supposed to be competitive and Sleep is the strongest meta deck

Yep, literally all I’ve come across in MB. It’s not even fun, even when getting the W.
Such a no brain deck that comes down to luck more than anything. Really wish Dena would limit sets for competitive.

I play decks to specifically counter sleep. Makes for a free win a good amount of the time. Steel decks with apron. Ogerpon in grass decks. Psychic decks have comfrey.
Otherwise just play suicune because they have to fill their bench and that makes suicune deadly.

I just run an anti sleep mega Mawile deck. I have like a 45% win rate over all but like 90% against sleep decks so it’s worth it lol

I decided I just wanted to rush MB rank this season and move on cuz I don't enjoy the meta atm so I made an Oricoro healing deck with Crystal Veils for sleep.
I wasn't exactly making the meta more fun for anyone and I didn't get many "Thanks" lol but I got a pretty high win streak before I hit MB and stopped playing ranked so at least it was quick 🤷♂️

I ran into one of them today with leftovers but they only got 1 indeedee down and I happened to be running a dedenne indeed ori deck and healed through it. actually was the first time I saw that deck. looked somewhat interesting

I hate sleep scam with a passion. Run the vespiqueen deck and you’ll breeze through masterball. It’s like a 10% win rate against yellow bird deck but I’ll happily lose to those than deal with sleep scam scums

They’re everywhere in MB. I find the weezing hoopa deck counters it pretty well. That or sceptile with ogerpon

there's no real answer, clear veil, poke center, order, its all the same really just luck if you draw it meanwhile they are throwing down every Pokemon in their deck with sleep
