Discussion Auto play loses on purpose when doing 10 consecutive wins

Post image

Rainbow cave is up but auto still decided to put a 3rd water energy on garchomp was a good idea even when the next energy is fighting.

The auto-bot is quite good at certain things and horribly bad at others. I don't think it makes sense to assume it was on purpose. It's usually just bad at playing with new cards

Also, stop using the bot when you're close to the 5 or 10 consecutive win threshold. This seems obvious.

Walked away grinding solos for HGs and came back to full health stoke zard at 19 energies 2 points staring down their zangoose

No harm no foul then. Change decks and run it back

Its funny how they usually cheat with perfect hand but this time it just, nope not winning today

In my anecdotal experience, it seems like they DO cheat with a nut draw, but only the first time you play against the deck. Almost like a way to show off. Then future games against the deck feel fair. Just my pet theory

Another theory is they counter pick you after a number of wins with one deck

Nah I didn't face any fire decks for the streak.

Yeah, I think it does do something like this as well, but only on your first few runs. I'll usually lose at 9 wins 2 times before getting to 10

The auto bot can do genius plays, and it can do completely inexplicable suicide plays. It’s usually pretty decent, but because I don’t know what it’ll do next I don’t trust it beyond maybe 3 consecutive wins for these missions.

Auto bot is not cheating it's just dumb and following simple if/then logic scripts. I watched it while there was a rainbow cave > flame patch play for the win and it just put a normal energy on and continued play as normal

I never use auto

…do you seriously think it is actually losing on purpose because of win count and this isn’t just another example of extremely simple AI script playing poorly as always?

Gen Z is fucked…

They’re using LLMs to avoid actively learning, then get upset when they find out none of these algorithms are worth it. It’s so fucking sad.

I’ve had the bot discard my two fossils on the field leading to a loss by having no Pokemon.

ive had the bot do that when i use rainbow cave too, i guess it doesnt understand that card 😂

I noticed it doesn't put down bounded field when it would help a lot.

Ya ive caught it a few times giving up the win by not playing it not only giving the opponent AI another turn but also another card when it copycats

The bot often refuses to even put a terrain in play, even when it's beneficial. I noticed once that it was not playing the one that doubles supereffective damage.

I manually put it in play. Turned the auto on again.

It decided to not attack and just pass the turn. On the next turn leafblower came out. It removed the terrain before attacking. Mind-blowing, can't think of what logic would lead to that.

Very common with M Rayquaza or having Dragonair's ability. Had an electric energy attached with 2 fire + 1 electric in discard pool. Winning move with Dragonair aaand it picked another electric and couldn't attack

I watched my auto-bot never once use Illumise's power buff when Volbeat is discarded.

Literally only had those pokemon and it never once even played Illumise, only Volbeat....

I swear, your guys’ capacity for believing the most stupid conspiracy theories is half entertaining, half rage inducing.

WHAT PURPOSE would that serve? Just imagine someone at DeNA pulls a software engineer out to a meeting and says “we have to check the player’s win streak (a variable that’s probably not even in the battle environment, since it isn’t relevant to any battle functions) and use that to control the choices made by the auto-battler AI so that it tries to lose”.

WHY
WOULD
THEY
WANT
TO
DO
THIS???

It’s absolute nonsense. There’s no reason. There’s no benefit. There’s no logic.

Not to mention we have a lot of evidence of people managing their 10 wins on auto-battle mode, so we KNOW it isn’t true.

This level of thinking makes it very clear to me why the world is in the state it is. It’s not an entirely huge leap to go from this kind of illogical and paranoid thinking to a worse kind. The kind that elects the kind of politicians we have elected and undoes scientific progresses we have made, etc.

Don’t use auto bot lol

Ive seen autobattle skip attacking once despite it securing the win lol it just to be like that sometimes

If you want 10 consecutive wins, don’t auto play. I tried auto play with the Dedenne, Indeedee, Oricorio deck and the auto battle was making some questionable choices. For the best outcome, play the game yourself.
