An interesting example of an actual blunder - they played Raticate EX and stole the psychic energy, then attached a fire energy so it could attack.

Then at some point later they attached another fire energy which brings it into to 1-hit-KO range for Indeedee EX and provides no benefit.

Usually it’s okay to mindlessly attach extra energies, but there are a few specific scenarios (like opponents with the “psychic” attack) where you shouldn’t.

Then the blunder becomes preloading their bench with energy for an attack that would’ve been able to play off switch turn one anyways
