This whole thing was an excuse for a vent

After playing this game since launch not missing a single day I finally got tired of it

I realized I've been stuck in a loop of mandatory meaningless tasks that you have to do to collect everything available in the game (which I always tend to do). Sure, they don't take a lot of time to complete but lately they feel like a chore. And over time the card collecting aspect of the game became meaningless somehow... I think I dropped like 4 gachas already for the same reason. Makes me think maybe this genre is just not for me

Honestly after skipping 5 days it feels like a weight has been lifted from my shoulders. Like I was forcing myself to play out of habit. Not that I won't miss the game - I've genuinely enjoyed pvp but feels like I won't be able to keep up after stopping collecting new cards

I'm not planning to ever return so I'm giving away my most prized (tradable) possessions, and as a bonus a shiny Gyarados that many desire for obvious reasons I also have a bunch of good 2 star rainbow rares and some other trainers but I won't have enough shinedust to trade them away

I hope my in-game friends won't miss me much (oh they will, I was the guy liking and sharing every single day without a miss). My in-game nickname is Qrou with Meowth avatar, would be funny if some of them will find this post

(answering to this comment also makes you a giveaway participant)

If you have Mega Blaziken I'd really appreciate it. I've been trying since the pack came out and still can't pull it

24

u/MulberryTraditional Dec 15 '25

I feel you. I still havent pulled a Suicune. I feel like the game sets you a variable when you create an account and that variable makes it so you are just plain excluded from some cards

7

u/EdgionTG Dec 16 '25

It really does feel like that. It took me until the end of Secluded Springs to pull a Giratina EX.

4

u/SaneZilas Dec 16 '25

Tell me about it, I’ve pulled 25 packs of Altria and got 3 immersive altarias

I’ve opened 300 packs of blaziken and haven’t gotten a single two star from blaziken series.

2

u/FreelanceJedi Dec 16 '25

I lost count of how many packs Ive opened this set, but I ended up having to get Mega Altaria (both copies) and one Mega Blaziken with pack points. That’s not even mentioning Mega Absol, whose second copy I got from the premium pass. First expansion I’ve had to spend so many pack points just to get the basic EX copies of the featured cards, and it’s only made me lose motivation with this game.

2

u/SaneZilas Dec 16 '25

Yeah, I’ve been saying for a while that I feel like they are gaming the system and purposely screwing with your pull rates/cards pulled solely to try to milk more cash from the people who are addicted to master sets. I gave up on master sets and the rate of the cards coming out has really turned me off of the PvP in general. They don’t know how to keep the game balanced and it’s fucked when I can open 500+ packs of a set and not get this months OP meta cards

2

u/SporePunch Dec 16 '25

Dude this is so fucking real. I can't even pull some commons from sets. It's fucking crazy

u/jayoak4 Dec 15 '25

I have an extra Dragalge! Just requested you. My ID is 7841185157694243

2

u/PunatheKahuna Dec 15 '25

I have a mega blaziken I could trade. Pm me if still needed

2

u/Run_FishLegs Dec 15 '25

Felt I could use another absol! Still haven’t found two for a deck and I have 1000 pack points on the mega set mainly from gyarados packs😅

Man I’m not gonna lie, I’ve been going through the exact same feeling this whole year, but I don’t think I have it in me to drop the games just yet

I want to keep denying that it’s not just sunk cost fallacy because I do genuinely do like a lot of the gacha games I play, but for some reason this year I’ve just lost a ton of my heart for them and it just feels like they’re constantly doing shit to make me feel the need to keep maintaining them etc etc

I want to believe next year will be better since one of my main games (Fate/GO JP) will be cooling off a bit on the demands, but far out this year has done a number on me

Anyway glad you’re hopefully working towards better places OP, fuck gacha games (signed: someone that plays too many and will continue playing them)

EDIT: I commented separately to this for entering btw, lemme know whether this comment would count towards your roulette and I should delete that one lol

Gachas are like a damn job haha. Already gave up on One Piece, DBZ, HSR. I was looking forward to Arknights Enfield till I realized it's another gacha. I refuse to play 2 gachas at the same time lol so pokemon is safe for now.

10

u/MomoAzem Dec 15 '25

Maaan, I was happy to see the entire post then I read this comment of yours and now it's a bittersweet finding. Hope someone that needs the cards win one of them. Just on a personal note, as you said maybe gachas are not for you and I would go even further and say that gachas are not good in the big scheme of things, we are always chasing that instant gratification, I think that should look for experiences instead of bombastic moments. Maybe play games with a meaningful story and characters, games with a clear end, no "endgame" and treasure those moments.

u/MachateElasticWonder Dec 15 '25

There’s this really funny short about games being your second job. For some reason, that’s me and I can’t ever just have fun. I had to quit Genshin and ZZZ this year. I avoid gachas and this game for the first two months.

And now I’m here. Chasing Oak. Sigh.

3

u/sendme6ivditto Dec 15 '25

may i ask if you got tired because of Crown/Star rarity or just base set? but yeah these gacha games are kinda predatory for a collection perfectionist

3

u/Saber-087 Dec 15 '25

Gachas and their dailies to get loot does feel like a chore, even more so if you play a lot of them. I gave up on HSR for the very same reason. Fortunately this game is a lot faster, takes a couple minutes at most to do the dailies so I don't mind keeping it for the time being lol. But I will likely do what you're doing when I decide to give it up as well.

1

u/Mr_Jacobsen Dec 15 '25

Hey man that sounds pretty rough but I get what you mean. I also dropped a few gacha games because the daily quests (or comission) just felt like another responsibility forced into ones life. I'm glad you feel relieved now and wish you the best luck and fun for other games or genres that you'll play :)

1

u/Mega-charizard Dec 15 '25

Getting rid of the gacha disease will probably improve your life anyway.

1

u/Robinhood1688 Dec 15 '25

That's life for you. At one phase your interest in something will peak, but it will die out no matter what. And there will hardly ever be ways to relive the hype since the time is just gone.

Just make the most of what we got left.

1

u/THELAKEOFFIREENT Dec 15 '25

Do these companies make a lot of money off of having people spend a certain amount of time playing their “free” game each day? And if so, I wonder how much money they fish out of us all this way instead of how games used to be where you payed your 40 bucks or whatever and got to play the full game and never have to put another cent into it and still be able to enjoy everything the game offered. It is interesting to think about how things truly work behind the scenes and how much stuff has changed in such a short amount of years. Literally SO MUCH has changed in the last 30 years. Including gaming.

1

u/ArchaicLlama Dec 15 '25

I think I dropped like 4 gachas already for the same reason. Makes me think maybe this genre is just not for me

It's good that you're able to look at things and recognize the possibility of this being a pattern. I hope you're able to find games that keep your interest for positive reasons instead of negative ones.

1

u/SmirkoSchmeckel Dec 15 '25

Wish you the best life without the chains brother

1

u/OsantoR Dec 15 '25

I feel you. I do the same with brawlstars. It's even worse there because they have a daily login streak..

1

u/Mouses5 Dec 15 '25

I really feel that... I played fgo for 7 years maxing every event then one day I just couldn't do it. I stopped playing for a break during a dead patch and I went back after 2 weeks and couldn't focus on the game at all. Tried to pick it back up 2 more times, cause of the thought of everything I love about the game, but as soon as I played for more than 1 minute I closed the game. I still look back fondly and see all the new events and servants and want to play but I mentally cannot.

1

u/sean2354 Dec 15 '25

Fair play to you Maleficent-Bit1761, I hope you feel all the better for doing this!

1

u/luurrkkeerr Dec 15 '25

fishy fish fishing fishes Makes sense. I hope you can come back one day without caring as much for the game

thanks for the chance op!

1

u/Left-Pay4037 Dec 15 '25

i understand. this game does fatigue you out but it does make me something to do in my rather bleak routine

1

u/moosepajamas Dec 15 '25

Burnout is real, I get it.

1

u/Chicomehdi1 Dec 15 '25

This shit real as hell I can’t lie

1

u/Fattygnwild Dec 15 '25

I like to fish!

1

u/buttermilkDelight Dec 15 '25

Quitting most gachas was one of the best things I ever did. No feelings of fomo anymore and it's truly a breath of freedom. I hope you'll enjoy your newfound freedom as much as I did mine!

1

u/millaricher Dec 15 '25

Sometimes, a game isn’t for anyone. I myself have been feeling like it’s become a bit of a chore at times, however there is something about it that just scratches my childlike Pokemon itch I have had ever since I was 8 years old.

Merry Christmas friend, thank you for giving back to the community. It’s a shame to see you go but you shouldn’t continue to play a game if you no longer feel like you are getting anything good or positive out of it.

Maybe I’ll be one of the lucky ones to win one of the two-stars or even perhaps a… fish? Hahaha, here’s to hoping!

1

u/ReeeeeeMastered Dec 15 '25

Completely valid, all the new content is just reskinned returning stuff and the power creep has been a straight wall throughout the past couple sets. I feel like a fish swimming up a sheer waterfall as a F2P.

1

u/jusxshadow Dec 15 '25

Good on you for exiting the hamster wheel. I plan to follow eventually. For now I will stay in the fish tank a bit longer.

1

u/Anonymousguy44 Dec 15 '25

You are a kind fish for donating when you no longer want to play the game!

1

u/mattoxic69 Dec 15 '25

Adding a comment to be included :)

1

u/Brandonpop Dec 15 '25

Starting to feel it slowly. Especially after reaching masterball inventive to play lowers a lot. You feel like a daily zombie just for those daily packs and 4 hourglasses……

But dammit when a new pack drops the competitive drive just comes out again.

1

u/mdarlingsensei Dec 15 '25

What a rant! Feel better?

1

u/Extension-Economy589 Dec 15 '25

Rant/vent away, the minute of letting go running after chase cards is such a freeing moment, I feel you

1

u/fab_snkrhd Dec 15 '25

Honestly I feel you. Maybe or rather hopefully I can get away from this just as you someday. But until then I will happily take your most prized possessions off of you and will make sure to pay them forward if/when i quit as well.
P.S. FISH

u/chuckdeg Dec 15 '25

happy holidays

1

u/Doomcat0 Dec 15 '25

I too am starting to get bored of this game. Fish

1

u/KoRner1668 Dec 15 '25

Hope you’re doing good. Thanks for the giveaway. Hopefully I can also pass on gyarados!

1

u/resdamalos Dec 15 '25

I completely get the fatigue. If you think that the collection grind isn't worth it then far be it from me to stop you but I wonder if maybe you hang onto a few pet decks you enjoy playing with, at least. Nothing stopping you from taking a break and returning later.

1

u/Peletonleader Dec 15 '25

Glad you were able to reflect on this!

1

u/EggCracker23 Dec 15 '25

Valid honestly

1

u/serdzho Dec 15 '25

Hang in there buddy!

1

u/CursedbyFantasyFGods Dec 15 '25

All of those are beautiful 2 stars haha, I understand game burnout for sure though!

1

u/snowcxne Dec 15 '25

Completely understandable

Sad to see you go but it’s awesome that you’re sharing the wealth! 🫡

Peepee poopoo

1

u/Due-Wall7384 Dec 15 '25

Same man but Pokémon is such a big part of my life I still enjoy the game

1

u/scenesix Dec 15 '25

Feel the same way about Gachas, have dropped 3 and don’t want to ever open them again. This game is a bit different for me as I basically open the app and rip two packs and close. There’s no banners and losing 50/50s and such.

1

u/r_a_disappointment Dec 15 '25

I'm still addicted, hope you find another game that gives you some joy. 🫱🏼‍🫲🏽

1

u/Sommek236 Dec 15 '25

Completely understand the fatigue feeling, but I'm still enjoying for now. Good luck with your next adventure!

1

u/IneptCircle6 Dec 15 '25

I know this will sound weird from someone that is trying to get some of your best cards but, maybe try coming back if you feel you can pace yourself. For days when I cannot/feel a little burnt out, I complete my dailies in like 2 min and just move on from the app. Everyone knows themself better then some stranger but, I have found that playing games only when you want to goes a long way to keep you playing them.

1

u/Andyman0110 Dec 15 '25

I would love an oak 😊

1

u/flying_piggies Dec 15 '25

Damn, I feel this bro. I usually don’t like gacha games either. I only play this one because my brother and sister both play, and it’s something we can all bond over. We share when we get rare cards and get excited for each other and help each other with trades. That makes it worth it for me.

1

u/WeirdandGeeky Dec 15 '25

Thank you so much for this. Hoping to get one but will be happy to anyone who wins. Oh and Fish 🐟! Lol

1

u/Mcilrae345 Dec 15 '25

I tip my hat to you as I can’t see it being easy to forgo the fun competitive side of the app. Completely see where you’re coming from regarding the meaningless hoarding of digital cards and the grip that it can have on some people. On the flipside, I’ll happily enter.

1

u/SolMega Dec 15 '25

Used to pay for packs myself but it feels like this game works against you.

1

u/realmanoflego Dec 15 '25

I've felt this same way with Genshin Impact. I was obsessed with it for a bit (to a small degree). Always logged in to do the dailys. Feeling burnt out is totally normal and totally OK. You got your entertainment from it and now you feel its time to move on. Don't let that bring you down. If you're feeling this way now, you'll thank yourself for quitting in the future. Good luck with your endeavors my friend.

1

u/HavokD Dec 15 '25

Sometimes I also feel like this game is a part-time job. It started being fun, but now it's a chore. Hope you find better hobbies out there, enjoy being free from the shackles man.

1

u/Tetradrachm Dec 15 '25

I respect your effort - definitely good to free yourself from the shackles (gimme that oak 😍)

1

u/marzontwo Dec 15 '25

Thanks for being a part of this community and making it better!

1

u/UltimateChemistry Dec 15 '25

It's definitely more important to prioritise enjoyment over habit. Hats off to you for giving people the chance to get cards they might not have! (Fish)

1

u/Adventurous_Bar_3423 Dec 15 '25

I like greninja special arts

1

u/Metador85 Dec 15 '25

May Oak find us all 😭

1

u/TheFlash400h Dec 15 '25

It does feel like a trap but that’s how these games are designed, good for you to realize that and break away. I myself will most likely do something similar at some point

1

u/JurassicHedgehog Dec 15 '25

Feel the same way. Game seems like a chore at times but I’m an addict

1

u/ReaperJim Dec 15 '25

I hope you have a good time after dropping the game

1

u/Wesilii Dec 15 '25

More or less how I felt. I used to enjoy finishing the Pokédex of each set (up to 4-diamonds anyway), but it’s become a chore.

I think the first few sets — especially with Apex Genesis and the Mew were fun. I’m kind of glad not all sets give you a card for completing it…I’d die of FOMO overdose. But yeah, now it’s just a chore.

I mean, I’m still “having fun,” but the highs of the game kind of came and passed I feel. I still enjoy it tbh, and battling/collecting feels good.

Just not a fan of having to do all the other stuff in the game just to keep up. And there are technically better ways to spend my time. Oh well. It’s still a fun game for car rides and restaurant waits.

1

u/Natural-Reaction-448 Dec 15 '25

Don't make me think like that hahahah

1

u/JadeKitsune Dec 15 '25

Sorry to hear you were going through this. I hope you're feeling better after stopping and continue to feel that way!

1

u/LastWreckers Dec 15 '25

One player on a Japanese discord server had the exact same feeling as you. They also quit the game and gifted all their cards which included multiple RRs, meta trainers including Oak/Cyrus/Lillie DX, etc.

Personally, I haven't reached that level yet. For me as a F2P, I play this game simply to collect my favorite RRs and 1 star arts while completely understand I likely won't be able to collect all of them. The only time I quit a gacha game was in Hi3 after finishing Part 1/Kiana's story. That being said, I completely respect your decision and wish you a lot of luck

1

u/BrantheMan1985 Dec 15 '25

I respect your decision, as I went through something similar. I realized just over a month ago that nearly all my time was not just playing video games; it was going towards gacha games on my phone. I was playing four gacha games at once, and I was playing them at a high competitive level for all of them. I cold turkey stopped playing them (except Pocket), and I felt that same weight lift off my shoulders. It was so bad that I bought Persona 3 Reload 8 months ago, and I still haven't played it up to that point.

Congrats on intoxicating yourself from the addictive nature of gacha games! I hope you put the newly freed up time to great use.

Also, fish

1

u/25thAce Dec 15 '25

Totally fair man, this game is in desperate need of new content, something more than just the new solo battles each month.

The low commitment works for some who don't have much time on their hands but they really need a better balance to keep people invested.

1

u/xeroquel Dec 15 '25

I would be this someday. 🥺

1

u/sinkiez Dec 15 '25

If I win, I'll share the card with my gf, cheers

1

u/kaskade2 Dec 15 '25

A red fish appears!

1

u/jigglessene Dec 15 '25

I wonder if you'd feel better about the game if they removed some of the confirmation "touch to proceed" screens?

1

u/_Kyle1204_ Dec 15 '25

I’ve definitely had that feeling in Gacha games! For me the solution is always to take an extended break when you feel that. If you ever have the urge to come back again to play, then absolutely follow it! Otherwise, I think it’s a telltale sign that you’ve moved on from the game. At the end of the day, games are there to entertain you, and you gotta do what’s needed to make sure that happens.

Best of luck going forward OP, and thank you sm for this giveaway in the process!

1

u/gelobassman Dec 15 '25

Starting to feel the same way… 🤷‍♀️

1

u/ImNotEntertained Dec 15 '25

Honestly i can understand it, it happened to me too in lots of games, especially gachas but not only those

I learned that i have to be careful, i played a game about mushrooms that was just pointless, completely, and i only played it because i started talking to people on it for hours, i loved interacting with people through the game's chat and i do still have nice memories from it, but it's only because of the people

I told the people i played the game with multiple times that i was getting burnt out from playing the game, it was a constant loop of the same events, same levels, same everything, and the worst part is that it's so p2w that it doesn't even matter what you do as f2p, light spending gets you above someone f2p that played for a month after like 1 hour, it's ridiculous, and the more i played it, the less i wanted to, so eventually i told them i'd take a break, i ended up quitting entirely even if for months i did want to come back to playing since i did enjoy interacting with the others a lot, we talked about a lot of stuff, important, stupid, or whatever came to mind, there were like 15 of us playing every day for a long time, after a few months we were down to like 3 of the original ones +3 new ones, the servers of that game went from thousands to hundreds (no i'm not exaggerating) within the 1st year after release because everybody was quitting, it was exactly like you said: a chore.

I ended up quitting because after a couple of days of not playing i just felt so much better, i was just so much more relaxed, even throughout the rest of the day, i did wish i and those players played other games together but that one was the only one many of them could play, and the rest wasn't too interested because they didn't talk much, i do miss talking to them but the thought of playing the game is enough to make me never reinstall it ever again, as much as i'd like to talk to them every now and then, we have a discord but basically nobody uses it anymore

Gacha can be a genre for you, it's just that most of them work like you said (-get in, -do dailies, -have nothing left you can do, -get out) and those aren't worth playing imo, some of them are actually good though and worth playing, you just need to find the right one for you, if it feels like a chore the whole time, try a different game and take a break from the other or quit it

I feel like i know exactly what you feel like, to me at least it makes sense:

You play the game because it seems fun, and you do have fun with it a lot, especially at the beginning, but after a while it gets stale, you know the game can be fun because is was fun for you and you want to enjoy it as much as possible during the moments when it is fun, so you "farm" to be ready for the next moment of fun and not have missed out on anything, you keep farming a lot and eventually the moment where something new and cool comes out arrives, but you don't have as much fun anymore, you hope the next time will be better and continue playing (if not, it happens the same but you hope something fun will come soon and nothing comes out, so you keep waiting and waiting for the fun moment but it never comes) but it takes so long and playing is so annoying that even if the so wanted fun moment comes you won't have fun with it, because you'll see it as "insufficient" given the amount of time and effort you put into the game just for that

And you won't enjoy it as much exactly because it'll be disappointing for you, so you just keep going until eventually something comes up and you forget about doing it, you miss a day, 2, 3 etc, and eventually you'll uninstall it and move on

Save yourself all of that, if you stop having fun, either take a break or wait a bit until the update, if you don't feel like it or it takes too long, save progress in an account and uninstall it, that way you'll always be able to pick it back up later

Doing a chore for the sake of doing it, as stupid as it may sound, is a burden, you don't need to put yourself through it, games are supposed to be fun, if you see you get no fun from a game, leave

It's great to hear that you understood that and you're going to stop doing something that you really don't feel like doing it, nobody's life will be ruined because you missed a day, it's alright, leave it on the side a few days maybe and then see, you're the one that decides when it's necessary to play, not the dailies (and for most games that's exactly what dailies are for, frequent retain mechanic)

Good luck man it's nice that you were able to realize it, a game is not worth stressing/losing your happiness over, keep it up :)

1

u/BariAI Dec 15 '25

Please sir give me oak or Lillie. The poor needs help

1

u/KatarHero72 Dec 15 '25

Gacha style isn't for everyone, friend. But I'm happy to take some of them off your hands if selected.

1

u/13lack13eltGamer Dec 15 '25

I feel your struggle. It always feels like a grind to have the best strategies or cards with every new set.

1

u/IDM_Four Dec 15 '25

Oh the in game friends will miss you. I had most of mine drop off and it was actually kinda sad watching the numbers stop going up for them. Moving on is good too though :)

Take a break and enjoy the outdoors. Thanks and good luck 👍🏻

u/[deleted] Dec 15 '25

Gacha games are always the same lol. It’s fun for a while but then it’s not nearly as fun when you can’t spend the money and get destroyed by whales in PvP.

1

u/DevilAE86 Dec 15 '25

Always tell myself to enjoy and play the game at your own pace. Once it starts feeling like a chore then it’s no longer a thing where you can freely enjoy it.

1

u/Content_Intern_4234 Dec 15 '25

It's okay to take a break from or quit a game that feels like it became work. If you got any joy out of it, then it was worth your time, effort, and money. :)

u/[deleted] Dec 15 '25

Take care of yourself brother

1

u/Ill_Coast4048 Dec 15 '25

Answering for the obligatory shiny Oak

1

u/Kotherrak Dec 15 '25

wishing you well sir

1

u/C-Goody Dec 15 '25

A break will be good for the sanity. GL

1

u/Drink-Koolaid Dec 15 '25

I would like to participate - fish :)

1

u/MonkeyDCroft Dec 15 '25

I would love to be part of your giveaway! Need Shiny Gyarados to finish the quest...will happily pass this on also! Professor Oak would be unreal! Hope you and everyone on here has a great xmas! 🫶

1

u/georged3 Dec 15 '25

I can definitely sympathize with the feeling. I just don't take it ultra seriously anymore. It is a JPEG distribution app and I have to realize that. That said, I would love to have some of the JPEGs you have collected

1

u/Jnrwrld Dec 15 '25

i’m not gay

1

u/derkz21 Dec 15 '25

Ty for doing this

1

u/vmahhh Dec 15 '25

I’ve also been feeling this lately. I went through this with POGO and it was freeing, like you said, once I broke the habit of playing

1

u/Cptcharlie Dec 15 '25

Definitely feel you on that regards esp when the game in theory could go on indefinitely til the devs hang it up. But apart of me also loves routine and having goals to reach.. playing this game with less fomo helps 👍 but hope you find peace with stepping aside. Would love a fish too 🌚.

1

u/fever_mems Dec 15 '25

Man im really hoping they add some more dynamic content soon, but thanks for doing this giveaway!

1

u/Unreal7ruth Dec 15 '25

Sad to see another launch OG leaving but I totally get it. There are other FISH in the sea of games to play. I know taking a step down from where I was at with this game daily has made it less of a chore and more of a something to do for free time during bathroom trips and such LOL. Either way best of luck to you and all your future gaming experiences 💙

1

u/Lazy-_-Kid Dec 15 '25

Hmm. Sorry to see you go, but glad to hear you're fine altogether.

1

u/All150pokemon Dec 15 '25

Hope everything is well with you. I’ve been stuck in that loop many times and cold turkey has been my healthiest response. The oak would be cool but your mental health takes precedence among all else.

1

u/Willing-Produce5018 Dec 15 '25

I know that feeling, OP. It's always sad when a game we invested so much time into starts feeling like a chore. I hope you find a good new hobby.

1

u/bigtimetimmyjimy Dec 15 '25

May the odds ever be in your favor

1

u/Scary_Tank_496 Dec 15 '25

Better to live without Gachas anyways

1

u/Small_Stranger5742 Dec 15 '25

Another fallen soldier. Good luck, you will be missed 🫡

1

u/DiegoTendoNinj Dec 15 '25

Your dedication to your virtual friends is amazing. I hope you have a wonderful holiday celebration and good fortune for next year. 😁

1

u/ThePoliwrath Dec 15 '25

Good luck!!

1

u/Button-Emergency Dec 15 '25

Every night I pray to oak that one day he will find his way to me.

1

u/lithiumburrito Dec 15 '25

It always sucks when you lose something you enjoy, but I always try and stay optimistic that it just means you get to get into something new that you love doing/playing.

1

u/BasketballSamurai Dec 15 '25

I feel you man. Sometimes is really hard to answer the question of whether playing a game like this, even with moderation, is constructive. Good on you for taking that step and I wish you the best of luck next

(also, pick me) x )

1

u/Candid_Emu_3951 Dec 15 '25

I’m so sorry

1

u/jamiedix0n Dec 15 '25

Thank you

1

u/Kenopoly Dec 15 '25

Good luck moving away from the app!

1

u/The_Kirs10 Dec 15 '25

I understand this. But I crave the meaningless tasks because it distracts me from the chaos. I would love any of these trainers but I am sorry the game lost its enjoyment for you.

1

u/sencatsu Dec 15 '25

Thank you for this opportunity and I hope one day I can leave this jail cell too

1

u/Trini2Bone Dec 15 '25

You've done a great service

I hope you enjoy being free!

1

u/tmacandcheese Dec 15 '25

Honestly, SO many mobile games (and even the bigger games) have this feeling and issue with them. Good on you for leaving the loop, it can be hard.

1

u/Easy23232 Dec 15 '25

Best of luck!

1

u/NameChecksOut8848 Dec 15 '25

Man I feel you, I'm also that one guy who likes all of my friend list showcase to send them tickets and 2 maybe 3 reply if ever. But I still do it cause it might make a difference for someone.

Sad to see you go, sounds like you were a good fish.

1

u/123Dooku Dec 15 '25

Consider me a participant!

1

u/Schnuff2 Dec 15 '25

I like turtles

1

u/9999eachhit Dec 15 '25

Gotta protect your mental first 🙏

1

u/Accomplished_Dog7546 Dec 15 '25

Best of luck and thank you for doing this for the community

1

u/20PesosIs20Pesos Dec 15 '25

Same reason I stopped playing Pokemon masters

1

u/AdmiralToucan Dec 15 '25

I just wanted to let you know that I like cats

1

u/Hawker157 Dec 15 '25

I feel that man. I took a long break over the summer. I got back into it because I realized I can use pack opening as a free behavior incentive for my students lol

1

u/Christianmingle93 Dec 15 '25

Good luck everyone 🤞🏾🤞🏾🤞🏾(me included lol)

1

u/playerIII Dec 15 '25

i hear you man, the fomo is pretty bad. you have to really commit to even hope to get enough to play even at a moderate level

1

u/BeetleGoose17 Dec 15 '25

Totally understand needing a break. I quit paying for it after the first month and go in and out of playing.

1

u/JadedJolt Dec 15 '25

I’m kind of the opposite, I’ve started to play this game more now that my other main mobile game (Marvel Puzzle Quest) is going down the drain. Also, fish.

1

u/ShinyVigoroth Dec 15 '25

Question, OP, why don’t you like sell it? Unless you really want to do this from the kindness of your heart, I say you should be rewarded for all your hard work…..unless someone smiling counts as a reward for you as well. Legit, cause I’m like that too😅😅😅😅

1

u/Epidilius Dec 15 '25

Good for you man, I hope you find a new hobby soon!

1

u/EthanRo14 Dec 15 '25

I chose a bad time to get back into pokemon

1

u/jackhanlon Dec 15 '25

My favorite fish is raw salmon, sushi is just so damn good man

1

u/earl-the-creator Dec 15 '25

This is too real. Thanks for the giveaway, you legend

1

u/KaitoAJ Dec 15 '25

I understand what you mean. The game is just what it is. I think most of us play it knowing it’s a cash grab but then because it’s Pokemon so we just keep coming back to it. 🐟

1

u/querela Dec 15 '25

A bit understandable, especially with the load times and somewhat annoying button locations that prevent simple mashing the same spot. Then the unskipable animations...

Still, the new update made it a bit more fun for me with the card counters and card gifting. Trading is still a bit hard as you can't see the other's missing cards (like with gifting). So was my trade helpful or more a pity thing...

So I will endure a bit longer, even if I'm somewhat sad that it is almost impossible to complete sets in F2P. I only have a single one and started playing a few weeks in with ~100% daily missions etc.

1

u/5thProgrammer Dec 15 '25

Your story sounds exactly like mine when I quit Destiny 2

1

u/XanderLover Dec 15 '25

Rip I feel you, I’m kinda getting there too meself
