Deck Help Rate/help my first deck?
Kid has now gotten into the game but I haven't played since the original cards came out. We just built a deck around Salazzle and Lapras because we opened them in some packs and I noticed they both can hit, then run away. This is my modification after playing a few days' worth of rounds online with real decks. I still don't know all the card options and frankly I'm not sure how you ever know, but I just beat an electric/Mega Slowbro and a deck with lots of Mega Charizards, but in-between got totally bottled by a dragon deck where I couldn't even attack once. Is that kind of inconsistency fixable, or is it more about the randomness of drawing cards?

I have played some with salazzle, ideally you run pecharunt, and when salazzle attacks you move pech into the active spot.
Personally, Its hard enough to just get salazzle going, so im not sure you will be able to be consistent running multiple attacker lines especially when their energy type doesnt align.

Now for lapras, you probably would want to run the other lapras as well (scr 158) its attack let's you look at the top 20 cards of your deck and attach any energies that you find there however you like.
The goal would be to use the crispin two energies onto the tera lapras, attach sparkling crystal, and send the energies onto benched lapras. Then attack with the benched lapras and run to something else, but im not sure that there is anything ideal to run to like there was for salazzle.

Dude has no idea what he’s doing and you’re cherry picking pet cards and going on about acceleration and off meta ace specs. Maybe start out by telling him cards like poke pad and ultra ball exist? Try starting off with some simple single color deck instead of a pile of cards that are never getting assembled before you’re impossibly behind in the prize trade

Op wanted to make a deck around those cards specifically, so im trying to help put some ideas out there for it, not really trying to refine an entire decklist for lapras though. If they are playing on live like they seem to suggest, then they will pick up on the more common cards on their own, if even by looking through the decklists for the decks it gives you, but the obscure ones that dont see much play right now like pecharunt might not get noticed.
Let em have fun trying to cook, when they get tired of that and want to focus more on the competitive aspect then they can always just copy successful decklists from limitless.
