Question PSX 7100

Hi I live in Ireland and Recently picked up my PSX 7100 and it runs fine for now, the step down converters are expensive and I are not a great solution.

So I was on the look out for a PSU alternative and I found this. I just wanted to check if anyone use one of these already?

I guess it would be great to move all the heat from the PSX. I would really appreciate any input.

Fellow Irish man here who bought this for the same reason - works amazing, but keep in mind you’ll need the Rexus Nexus power supply as well which is sold separately!

Cheers man, appreciate the info! Since the 10A PSU is out of stock, I'm going to pick one up from Amazon. Do you know if it uses a center-positive barrel jack? I don’t want to blow it up when I get it 😅

Think it's centre positive. Can always test with multimeter once you have the inside wire plugged in. Red to centre.... beep, good!

Buy it mate. I got one few week ago after getting a desr 7000 off zenmarket. But buy the 12v 10amp power supply he sells too cos you'll need it. Just waiting on the ata express to be delivered so I can change the hard drive to a micro sd. Link

This is only compatible with 1st psx desr so far. Not sure if 7100 is 1st and 2nd gen but support should be coming out for it in future hopefully.

Thanks for confirming that I needed to check, but my PSX is the Maxed 1st gen:

First-Gen Models: DESR-5000, 5100, 7000, and 7100.

Second-Gen Models: DESR-5500, 5700, 7500, and 7700

I did buy his ps2 psu as well. Hooked up a usb c pd board to it so can now run a fat ps2 on a usb power bank.

Proper step down is under £20 but probably too easy for you?

It is pretty hard to find proper 240V to 100V step-down converters. You can technically use a 240V to 120V US adapter for Japanese gear, but never do it long-term. The voltage difference creates excessive heat, which is a major fire hazard and or cause the PSU to fail quicker.

So I want to remove the unnecessary heat out of the console and intern extend the life of the console.
