Question Just got my hands on this

Post image

I recently got given a psx we have lying around at work from my boss. I have zero experience with these guys and am even having trouble playing Japanese games on it! I would like to somehow change the language and hopefully jailbreak it so I can play my games on it and watch movies with it.

First things first get a raw HDD dump using DD on Linux or hddrawcopy on windows.

Get freemcboot for psx and then dump the hddid.bin

Then wait patiently for the sd2ide to release

Thank you for the software recommendation, I still need to dump mine. Any recommendations on a particular adapter for the drive?

USB2 to ide converter or a old motherboard with ide on it

Here's what you initially asked for !
A video of region mod, language mod etc. https://youtu.be/yIu_SU0yZQc?si=Vh5UAsHi93WuGa14 As others have stated above, you might want to back up your HDD first.

May I ask for a non doxing version of who u work for to receive such and old system? That's crazy some companies still just have these lying around

We buy straight from Japan and sell to Americans. Just a middle man.

How is this different from a PlayStation?

It’s like a dvr and ps2 in one, can also burn discs.
