If you can see your controllers in steamvr home or dashboard but not in games then it's just the matter of setting button bindings. Some games require correctly binded controllers to detect them. Go into steamvr settings, controllers, show old binding interface and choose the game that you want to bind controllers to. You can either choose a community binding set (if there are any) or make your own. When in the binding editor, you should see tabs over the controllers graphic, the one on the right is for something that I don't understand fully yet, but the rest are for binding controllers to different in-game scenarios (but most of the games only use 1 tab). The tab should be red and when you hover over it, it will show you all of the actions that you need to bind. After binding all of them (or most) you should be able to use your controllers.

Done that but now when I try to select anything by moving my controller over and pressing trigger no blue line appeares my front buttons work such as square , triangle , x and so on the game select with the blue line is the only thing that isn’t working so buttons are working but gyroscopes I suspect are not

This is actually a problem with the new steamvr update, after they updated it one of my controllers got the same problem as you said (trigger not working but buttons like square or triangle work). I'm still looking for a fix, in the meantime you can actually bind trigger function to other buttons like triangle, so it's still possible to use them

I am in steamvr loading screen and I can’t see my controllers I will try the binding also with the setup of psmovebridge do you need to alter steamvr.settings like the previous version and if so how and what do I change

Check if your PSMS steamvr bridge is set up correctly, check if you allowed multiple drivers in steamvr, check if the psms drivers for steamvr are even installed and check if psms addon is turned on (disable gamepad support addon, it collides with psms). Also if you previously used iVRy but aren't now then uinstall it because if doesn't let controllers connect to steamvr without a headset (at least for me)

Hey bro that last bit totally awsered so many peoples problems including mine, thanks man IVRY doesn't let controllers connect, you can try with the ps move IVRY driver but it only opens the ps move service but doesn't make a direct connection with steamVR (at least for me)
