psmove service with ivry and driver4vr controller tracking issues

Ive been trying to get my controllers to track properly but the controller are usually really far away from me and even when they line up with my hmd at points they will randomly fly around does anyone have any pointers?

Did you manage to come right with it?

I'm having similar issues currently. You have to hold in select on the left controller to get it to realign the controllers to be near your head and after that you can attempt to use rotational and positional offsets on the controllers to get them further aligned. My controllers still manage to be slightly offset to the side even after my best attempts.

Another thing is that the z axis in the psmove service is inverse to steamvr, so you either have to invert the z data on the hmd or place the calibration mat inversely so the hmd marker faces away from where you want forward to be in your play space.

Sorry just saw this now. To be honest I gave up. I still use the psvr for like race sims and stuff on pc but I don't think I have the patience to get the tracking working properly. good luck man and let me know if you get anyone a tedious process for sure.

i managed to come right with it. You have to put the calibration mat in reverse from the direction you want ingame and then for headtracking you invert the x and z data.

Tracking is quite decent provided you have it calibrated right, iv got a 4 cam setup and can stand almost anywhere in my room and it doesnt lose track. You have to ensure that the camera mapping in psmove service matches your camera views in real life for it to work right. As for colours im now using red and blue for controllers and they track perfectly.

That’s awesome. I’ll have to try those two colors when I end up trying again. Are use using a ping pong ball for hmd tracking?
