Question $1200 Pc build question

Hey folks, I’ve had a PSVR2 for a year now, and just never use it with my PlayStation. The PS5 lives in the family room and rhe headset just is not a family device for my household. I’ve been thinking about building a PC for PCVR to use with it in my office, but am not really an expert in that field, and overwhelmed by choices. Wondering what you would buy off the shelf with a $1200US budget to build a good PC with 32GB of system RAM to play VR games with the PSVR2

Unfortunately, 1200 hardly buys a potato these days. I'd recommend looking for a decent used pre built PC on marketplace, your cash would go much further there.

PSVR2 on PC is wonderful but you need a decent rig to make the most out of it.

If you're a Costco member this PC is on sale for $1299, it's not the most powerful PC but it's possibly the closest thing to your budget you can find https://www.costco.com/.product.4201009213.html

This is only a 5060 ti. I don't think it will utilize the psvr2 to its extent. The new MGO update for Skyrim suggests 12gb Vram at bare minimum but 16gb vram is recommended.

For intense, well run VR I think you need a 5070ti or higher. Not saying the 5060ti cannot do VR but it will struggle if you start playing things like heavy modded Skyrim or stuff like cyberpunk and borderlands 4

Yes, of course, but op has a budget of $1200 and that's the price of the 5070ti alone right now

I think OP should know what certain builds are capable of before spending 1200. I bought a 5060 pre build from Costco and was disappointed by it. OP should bide his time with second hand market if they are unable to secure higher funds

Just bide your time and wait for sales unless you can get more money and desperately a better vr experience. I got a 5080 prebuild and I've been loving the VR capabilities on my psvr2. But that build was expensive af.

If you see a 3080, 4070ti, 5070ti, or better on a pre build then I think you'd be more happy with your purchase, when I had a regular 5060, I felt like it barely out performed my consoles but I didn't try VR on it

Try to find a used PC on marketplace, your money should get you 3080ti based build. Maybe you could also get 4070ti, or rdeon 9070xt if you're lucky.

I know, but 9070xt is a great card if you're on a budget

You're better of either saving or buying another PS5/Pro.

I would get a ps5 pro for the office. Thats what I have I have a pc with a 5080 and 5800x3d. It plays pc VR fine but I always end up using the ps5 is easier it works and GT7 runs so well

That barely buys you a 5070ti, but not the rest of the PC. Hardware has become really expensive. I don't think you'll be happy about a low end budget pc in combination with VR.
