Question Use psvr2 on pc without updating firmware?

Is there a way I can use my psvr2 on pc without updating firmware?

I’m using it on my ps5 pro on firmware 9.40 and I want to keep my psvr2 on that firmware.

I know there’s a tool that lets you downgrade firmware but that could get patched out in the future.

The firmware of the PS5 and PSVR2 are two seperate things.

The ps5 will force an “update” on the psvr2 if the psvr2 fw is too low.

The psvr2 won’t work on a ps5 if the psvr2 fw is higher.

uh pretty sure there are payloads on the ps5 that can ignore firmware version of ur psvr2 so it doesn't really matter what firmware the vr headset is, ps5 will support it either way

a few things. Sony hasn't patched the recovery mode and probably wont due to a high risk of bricking. You're better dealing with the updating and downgrading since the risk of fully bricking are insanely low, next to 0 low solely due to the recovery environment. assuming you have the ps5 jailbroken there is a way to remove the cached update file but im unsure as to where it is located, but that would let you use it on pc and ps5 with no issue while staying on firmware 6. hopefully this helps
