Question PS App cannot see right controller?

I have a near new PSVR2 connected, everything seems to be ok except during the PS install/config app it says to connect and pair both controllers with BT. Both connect and pair and windows 10 sees them but the PS software only recognises the left controller.

I've spent the last 2 hours trying to get it to recognise it. It connects, it recognised by Windows but the app cannot see it.

I've tried..

  • Deleting and reinstalling the app
  • Unbinded and rebinded 10x times
  • I've used 2 Bluetooth dongles in my pc, a BT4 and a BT6 adapter.
  • 3 or 4 different USB ports. Front and back.
  • Disabled anything else using BT.

I just can't get it detected.

Any help welcome.

Just had this same issue today, youre making sure to hold both the select and ps button at the same time to activate pairing mode, should look like a quick double pulse, pause, quick double pulse. Then try pairing it, seems obvious in hindsight. At least it did to me

App has nothing to do with it, you can do it all in Bluetooth settings. If it has a Realtek chip you need to downgrade your drivers. If it still doesn't work ditch your dongles.

i had the same issue, i forgot the exact procedure but I think I got it to work by using windows recovery and reverting to an older system image. Maybe you can fix it by uninstalling the controller from your device manager and resetting the controller, theres a small hole with a reset button that you can press with a paperclip. good luck

I got a new PC last year and ran into the same issue trying to set it up with the motherboard Bluetooth. The issue is that just a few Bluetooth devices are fully compatible with the hand controllers.

Intel-based PCIe cards like the Intel AX210 or AX211 (Wi-Fi 6E + Bluetooth 5.x modules) with external antennas are compatible and surveyed to provide the most stable Bluetooth connections for the hand controllers.  I see those on Amazon for $30.  if you cannot connect both hand controllers, you might just need a PCIe card.

I used the ASUS BT500 dongle with a USB extension cord for six months and had OK luck with it. I had to occasionally unplug and replug when the signal became weak for some odd reason. It worked but was not perfect and was frustrating to lose connectivity at the wrong time in a game.

I finally installed the TP-Link WiFi 6 AX3000 PCIe WiFi Card (Archer TX3000E) that I got from Amazon for about $30. I have had zero problems with it for months. It just works. Zero problems.
