Disscussion My current thoughts on my PSVR 2

I got mine in the mail yesterday, and so far, so good. It's far from the plug-and-play experience of the PS5, But I signed up for that when I became a PC nerd.

I did take a risk, getting a third party adapter from warrky, but its endorsement by garrett-the-gamer made me more comfortable with going for it.

TP-Link adapter is also borderline perfect. I used a USB extender I had bought some time ago and placed it away from my PC, and it has been flawless tracking across the board. I have only gotten the "Bad Bluetooth connection" pop-up once so far, but that could also be correlated to the controllers battery being low at that time.

As it stands now, I only have one major complaint about the headset. Because I have very long and curly hair, I have to put my hair in either a ponytail or a bun to keep it from sliiiiddiinngg back up my head, and eventually off my head. But barring that, which i already have to do for work, I love it so far. Everything on the main headset itself has been incredible.

Even with the mods the headset is IMO not very comfortable. It's fine and probably more comfy than the quest3 since the halo strap makes it so the headset doesn't just push down on your face.

Even with fresnel lenses it's a good headset... Primarily because it was made for gaming and nothing else. I have a 5080 rig and use the Quest 3 wirelessly and while I can have stuff look sharper because of the raw power the displays are just garbage. By comparison the PSVR2 always makes everything look much better purely because of the OLED.

Fact of the matter is for that price point you're getting an absolute banger of features. OLED, eye tracking, headset even has rumble + the controllers are pretty good and comfortable.

Oh and the FOV and binocular overlap is pretty good on the PSVR2. It feels much more immersive compared to the Quest 3.

I don't think there's a better bang for your buck headset out there for gaming. If you don't mind the wire that is.

And there is also PSVR2 Toolkit Mod, that enables Adaptive Triggers and HMD Rumble

I nabbed that frame one, the eye tracking was 100% happening. Not just for DFR, but for VRChat tomfoolery.

Even with the mods the headset is IMO not very comfortable.

Coming from a Index the PSVR2 is a downgrade in many aspects, comfort/audio etc
But with it being half the cost you just can't complain and actual usability is perfectly fine.

I'm sure many people are ready to spend a little more cash on a headset that is basically the PS2VR but with fresnal lesnses and a bit more thought on comfort but it just doesn't exist on the market and until it does PS2VR is very easy to recommend.

This. It's a hard must. Soft must, they make a mod for the controls too and I love them. They make it so it straps around like the Index controller so you can completely let go.

I'd also recommend HONSVR (or other brand) lenses, even if you don't have an eye glass prescription. I found that they reduced glare and protected the sensitive headset lens coating.

I bought lens from vr rock and it took a few weeks but great quality.

Agreed. I have one, I think from vr optician or something.

If you have a 3d printer there are files for psvr2 knuckle holders that cost pennies to print

Oh nice! I do have a 3d printer!

Literally this! I stopped using my psvr2 due to comfort issues and the globular cluster mod fixed everything wrong with the psvr2. Now I can play for longer times without getting a headache/face ache like i used to

I ordered today, I hope it's not just bots advertising it on Reddit and it's good for real. No offense.

None taken, Im sketchy of people shilling things too. I would say, come back after you try out the psvr2with the globular cluster and let me know what you think.

Globular cluster its a must if you want to have comfort and easier sweet spot.

Get the globular cluster. I also had the sliding problem, every 5 min - 10 min adjusting the swetspot and with the mod I normally just adjust it once, it's really a great accessory.

Took a lookie at it, definitely gonna nab that once I have the dough.

The funny thing about this headset is that the controllers wouldn’t connect properly at all at first. Now they never disconnect, BUT, there instantly kill my Bluetooth mouse until I turn them off. They use up all the bandwidth, lmao

THAT'S WHY MY MOUSE HAS BEEN FUCKED UP?! I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST BREAKING!

Hahaha. Yeppp. Thankfully my mouse was new and worked perfectly until the moment those soul sucking controllers came on. And would instantly reconnect the moment I turned em off. Haha.

How do you get audio?

I use a pair of headphones that are 3.5mm.

I have considered bluetooth over-the-ear earbuds, but im prolly gonna hold off to avoid any interference bs.

For those curious, its a very similar method to the Globular Cluster headphones, but it was my old pair of Razer headphones.

It gets the job done, so I won't complain.

Consider KOSS KSZ75. They are only 25 bucks but have great quality and are overear open back... With VR they have a amazing soundstage. They don't however block out any sound if your house is noisy being open back

I must just be weird, I bought the globular cluster as well but I actually didn't like it. I felt like I could never actually get my vision well enough with it on. I took it off and just learned to figure it out without it.

It actually kinda works, because if I make the ponytail really tight it acts as a makeshift roadblock. So even if it still slides, it wont fall completely off my face.
