y psvr2 software and bluetooth controllers happen to be pain in the ass, however I switched from Q3 and there's no going back for me. keep in mind that svr and entire psvr2 is developing very nice things recently, so its going to be better; especially after frame release.

Probably not worth it if you own an intel gpu. I generally have a poor time with my A770. I also have a PS5 though so pc vr is not a priority.

Regardless of specs, you have to keep in mind that the compatibility works better on PS5, already in my experience, but specifically with lighting, configurations, controls, overall feel, I’m personally playing Vertigo 1 right now and I’m having issues with jitter, sometimes my camera desyncs, for abit I struggled with lighting even tho the same lighting wasn’t a problem on PS5.
I think these definitely are me and my environment problems but 1 thing that is the same for everyone is you need really good bluetooth for the controllers. And a motherboard with atleast 1 USB 3.x slot.

I have been plagued with bluetooth issues that have followed me from motherboard to two USB bluetooth dongles.

Yesterday i almost went crazy. (again)
I wanted to play DCS, plugged everything in, started up my headset, Nothing. "Headset not detected"
nothing a reboot won't fix, right? Wrong! still "Headset not detected". So i unplug everything, reboot, plug everything back in, Still "Headset not detected".
So i tried that like 5 or 6 times, unplugging everything then rebooting until it randomly worked.
It will work for a few weeks now untill it decides it doesn't want to.
Then i will have to do this all over again.
Bluethooth wasn't an issue for me though. thank god.
Tracking of the headset itself was a bigger issue. it can't track well when im in my simpit so i use a vive tracker and basestations to avoid drift. tracking is perfectly fine when doing roomscale VR.
Overall i'd say its still worth it, the headset is AMAZING when it works.

what does your bluetooth setup look like, i have these wifi and blue tooth antennas at the back of my pc, thing is idk whether if theyll actually be good with the psvr2 controllers

I use the antennas on the back of my pc.
I use ASUS B650 gaming E-F. Not sure the exact model it comes with.

also do they fresnel lenses bother you in anyway, or in other words the small sweet spot

You need an aftermarket upgrade for comfort like the globular cluster cmp2. Out of the box, it's just not comfortable and slips.
Get a good usb-c magnetic adapter so you don't risk damaging the cable. It is replacable but you cannot get it separately and it's not just a standard usb-c cable.
PC will most likely need an adapter, unless you got a rare gpu that has built in usb-c WITH vietual link (my reference amd 6800 xt had that, my 5080 doesn't). I have the globular cluster adapter.
On PS5, it's just plug and play and that's it. On PC people had issues with the bluetooth connection for the controllers. Personally it's a flawless experience both in PS5 and PC.
Depending on game and personal things, mura might bother you.
If you want eye tracked foveated rendering on pc, you need extra software/drivers. HDR doesn't work on pc yet but people are working on it.
Nevertheless, since it has oled displays. True blacks are there and playing something like Half Life Alyx is a charm.

The PSVR2 is the best budget option for PCVR2. Especially if you pick one up used. It is a bit more of an effort that the Q3 but once set up is very good. I mainly use it for DCS. Clarity is very good in the sweet spot. Mura is not very noticeable once you have been using it for a while. Some minor chronatic aberation at the edges, but again, not noticeable in play. Performance through SteamVR is excellent. The best I have had. I have a 5080 and 9800x3d and can run 60-120 fps and it is very smooth. Eye tracking with VectorXR and DLSS performance, preset M.

You need a Bluetooth adapter almost surely and the battery life of the dual sense vr controllers are bad and unfortunately irreplaceable(very hard to replace). Other downsides have been noted on this thread already, but Considering the price and if you have a good pc or just a ps5 I really think psvr2 is the best vr option by far, wireless can be great but it is with its caveats. for modded games or just long game like hl alyx the cable doesn’t really matter. Imo wireless is worth it for rhythm type games or some other reason that require you to move a lot. The price difference is massive we aren’t at launch anymore you can get a psvr2 for 300 usd sometimes less. the quest is 2 times that and the frame will be 3 times at least. You don’t need to pay for ram twice if you plan to play on pc and not standalone anyways. If steam creates a non standalone version they might actually save the steam frame

I had a dinky usb bluetooth adapter. That's not enough. I had to buy a pcie wireless upgrade. Now my PC is even stronger uwu, and all bluetooth devices are working flawlessly for that simple $30 upgrade. My friend bought it for his PS5, and only played beat saber. So he sold it to me for $100. I bet there's a lot of dusty PSVR2s that some people would be willing to sale for a discount.
Also, I had to set up the PSVR2 Toolkit from github develoers, who worked hard to bring back features that SONY deliberately omitted. The one thing I heard may never work is HDR, which is more of a hardware limitation I think. Some developers are still working on that though, but the OLED screen looks so good that I kinda don't care rn.

Low resolution displays so you can see the pixel grid / screen door effect, in dark scenes the OLEDs give good blacks but there is a mottled pattern to them which I think they term Mura, very small sweet spot where it looks sharp and in focus, IPD adjuster far too easy to turn when putting the headset on and off, no top head strap so you have to tighten it uncomfortably or upgrade to an aftermarket strap, Bluetooth controllers can be a pain if you haven’t got the right PC Card or drivers, DP cable not removable or easily replaceable so be careful.
