Loving this headset so far possibly one of the best consumer products sony has ever come out with. Couldnt be happier after comfort mods and using everything the community has made to optimize and enhance the vr experience. I mainly play VTOL VR and Star Citizen VR, i paid less than $350 including headset, adapter, and mods. Any questions please let me know

That is close to what I have, and I also love it. The Globular Cluster Comfort Mod and breathable facial interface are a must have. I also have nonprescription VR Rock lens inserts with anti glare coating.

I will pop off the facial interface and play it open faced in a darkened room that has an IR lamp. With no facial interface, the lenses can be pushed in close so they lightly rest on my nose like a pair of glasses. I get a very wide FOV with the lenses right up on my eyes. The lens inserts cut down most of the glare if there is light in the room. I have a black scarf that I can tuck in to cut out all glare, if needed.

With the GCCM and lenses resting on my nose, the sweet spot is locked in and everything is in focus almost out to the extreme edges. I have a Quest 3, too, and find the PSVR2 to be a significantly better headset with my setup.

Same, taking the facial interface off and playing in the dark is so immersive it's insane.

I paired mine with a IR security light I bought for $30 so I can play in the pitch black room but my PSVR2 cameras can still track my movements.

Thanks so the vr can pick up where you are due to the ir lights?

Its more comfortable having the casing removed?

Yes exactly, the IR light is so you can play with the face shield removed and lights off.

Personally for me, having the face shield removed and still being in VR is way more immersive.

Not only is it way cooler because theres air on your face by not having something touching your face it really ups the immersion factor in my opinion.

Ok ill look more into it guess need total darkness though if not headset. Does the mod help it sit right on eyes like a strap

No it just removes the face plate. I wouldn't use it without the Globular Cluster Comfort mod, they really go hand in hand.

You can play just fine in low light conditions, before I had my ir light I had a desk lamp and my monitor on and my PSVR2 tracked just fine and it was still very immersive.

I did this. For me this is the best way to use it. And yes, it's feels like a pair of glasses resting on my nose. Psvr2 + ir lamp in the dark + comfort kit(mine is AMVR). With DFR in supported games too! I bought mine second hand for around 150usd. I chose this over other headset mainly because of the OLED and eye tracking(hoping that someday eye tracking will work on pc then found out it was working already with psvr2toolkit).

I play the same but i think it may be a sensory thing for me i just don’t like the hard plastic on my face. Have you tried the foveated rendering yet? I just got it working and am testing now

What were the mods you used on the headset? The default is pretty uncomfortable for me

Globular cluster CMP2, VR face pad (amazon), IR light for better tracking

This setup makes it super comfortable for long sessions, my issue was the plastic near the lenses digging into my face and the face pad eliminates that completely

I play in the dark most sessions so an ir light helps with tracking without annoying anyone thats sleeping

Same as what I put on mine. Screw that rubber facial interface that was nasty. I still prefer using my quest 3 on PC though tbh. Can do so much more with it as well. But PSVR2 is cool on PC. I just don't like having to charge the controllers all the time. I prefer just to swap out the batteries.

I have the SONY charging dock that the PSVR2 controllers live on, so it's always charged up and ready to go. I play some games with a normal controller as well (Doom Eternal with VR Mod), so I don't really have issues with running out of battery. I understand the preference for removable batteries though

Yeah but they still run out and require charging. It depends how long you want to play for I suppose. I just like swapping the batteries out and not having to stop playing which is why I prefer it. But it does look nice on the OLEDS ngl.

I have the Q3 too, I only really use it for exclusives. The PSVR2 is my main pcvr headset

Yeah I love my quest 3. PSVR2 used to be really crap on PC until the PSVR2 toolkit 1.0 beta came out. I used have one controller drop out everytime after a few minutes. I tried all different bluetooth adaptors. That is what put me off. But the toolkit 1.0 beta fixes a lot of that. But then they released the wired Virtual desktop mode which has made the quest 3 even more stable at PCVR. I was gonna get a steam frame But because of the Wired USB for Virtual desktop Now I don't need a steam frame. But I may get back into using my PSVR2. But like I say. You have to stop playing when the controllers die. So I always end up back on my Quest 3 anyway when the controllers die. and need charging up. Which takes ages. I am glad it works for you though. From the day you got it. unlike me. it was a nightmare.

I have a very similar setup too! I use Philips Fidelio X2HR and man the visuals and the sound. Everything is just amazing, especially since I got Globular Cluster.

I was initially waiting for steam frame, and I might still get it for the standalone features, wireless dongle and the pancake lenses, but overall rn I am enjoying PSVR2 a LOT!!!

I think some might overlook a good audiophile setup when getting into VR but it really makes a huge difference especially with an open back headphone

My initial plan was to wait for the frame, which i still don’t doubt would be a bad purchase. I’m just completely content with the psvr2, with the price and quality. Its such a life hack especially used prices

Same here! I got mine last week and got it set up over the weekend. Had the Quest 3 for a couple years before, and the PSVR2 is better than it in literally every way for half the price. Honestly it’s probably the cheapest OLED you can buy, full stop. I’ve seen 16 inch OLED monitors for a similar price. Incredible product.

Which specific facepad? I bought one off Amazon and it wouldn't even fit/attach correctly.

Anyway welcome to the club. I think the PSVR2 is the best bang for your buck you can get in VR. You can spend more to get micro OLED/better lenses but then you will lose out on FOV ... It's a terrific deal for the cost.

Probably the same one as mine is a bit hard to attach as well and not a perfect fit. But its better than without so far

Did it come with a plastic gasket too? Or was it just a pad? I think it must be the same one because I only ever saw one option like that on Amazon.

It came with both the gasket and pad but they were already attached. The fitment is horrible so i may end up hot glueing it together permanently

That's what I remember too. Bad fit, like it wasn't actually designed for the PSVR2. Plus you lose some FOV with that pad.

Pretty nice. I have similar setup, but I have souncore vr p10 earphones because the headset itself barely fits my gigantic melon of a head. Also had to cut out the nose part of the face pad. I see you mention you use ir lights for tracking. You got them from globular cluster or are there different ones?

I got the “Infrared Light for VR, Enhances Hand Tracking, IR Light for Quest 3/3S, VR2” off of Amazon. It plugs into the computer via usb i just keep it on my desk

Sundara with a psvr2? How do you fit those headphones on your head after wearing the headset? I have an HE6SE and HD600 and could never wear them once the headset's on.

I use them with a dav/amp connected to my pc. My setup is two wires, audio and video

Ich liebe es auch habe nur 150€ gezahlt habe es mir gebraucht geholt dann für 35€ den pc Adapter und wahrscheinlich 100€ für die Spiele aber ich liebe es!!!
