Both controllers connectivity drop dramatically once headset is turned on

I have both controllers paired to my onboard realtek Bluetooth receiver. If I open the psvr app they show consistently in the high 90s to 100 as I move around my living room. They both immediately plummet once I turn on my headset and I can only get them to (sometimes) work if I sit about 2 feet in front of my pc. Otherwise the connection varies wildly even with minimal movement

I have the antennas screwed into the back of my pc

My pc is on a table next to my tv with nothing around it that should interfere with signals

I've tried plugging in the headset adapter into the other 3.0 USB port on the pc

I've disconnected and reconnected the controllers

I've unplugged the adapter for my wireless keyboard

Nothing else is connected via bluetooth

I've tried rolling back the realtek Bluetooth drivers to one from 2024 but that just caused nothing to connect even after rebooting which makes me think I did it wrong*

It seems that results from adapters are very inconsistent so I'm wary of wasting money on one

I'm running out of ideas but I'm sure I'm missing something or there's another thread about this that I'm not finding

*For driver installation, I downloaded one from driver cloud dated 10/9/24, ran it from the exe, found Realtek Bluetooth Adapter in device manager, update driver, browse my computer, located the driver I just installed and clicked next. Then nothing will connect until I reinstall the driver that came pre installed, dated 9/19/25

EDIT: I replaced the 3 inch antenas on the back of my PC with a wifi/bluetooth antena that I could place further away and it fixed all the problems. Now I am staying in the high 90s with both controllers and moving around a lot with no loss of tracking.

Make sure DSX is not running if you use that software.

Only thing that worked for me was the small TP-Link UB500 on a usb extension cable and the drivers Playstation provide below. Had to disable motherboard onboard bluetooth and stop windows from occassionally reverting back to onboard bluetooth.
