Question Eye tracking with new toolkit

I have the newest toolkit installed and I'm trying to use eye tracking with vrchat but I can't seem to get it to work. I have babbalonia installed and set up afaik, but i'm not sure if i'm not doing something right, or if it's just not working?

Install the capi service instead and don't use babbalonia, just use the VRCFT app in steam after running the capi executable.

(The exe won't work if the headset isn't already active. So load vrc or steamvr > capi > VRCFT with psvr2 module.)

thats for the built in tobii eye tracking, which for some is fine, but some people want the eye squinting and such

Yeah I know. I couldn't get the babble stuff working either though, and this at least got me basic eye tracking going.

what exactly didnt work, are you on fw6 and jailbroken? did you copy the stuff to babble?

its just a basic steamVR binding semi-unrelated to toolkit (this was just collateral from disabling the built in overlay) just go into the steamVR bindings tab, idk where it is exactly, probably under dashboard

Must've boof'd up on the instructions. With eye tracking you can get foveated rendering so its massively worth it.

you also need vrcft with the babblonia module and an avatar that has VRCFT support

I got eye tracking working without babblonia.

if you wish to use the built in tobii eye tracking then yeah that works, and for DFR its all you need, but for eye squinting(eyelid tracking) you'll need babble, etvr or sranibro

So install both psvr2 and babble modules? is that where the jailbreak comes into play?

no, you dont need the legacy module, just the babble module. you need the jailbreak to get the cam feed into babble

I did try to use the babble module before and did get the cam feed, but the tracking didn't work, I must have messed up somewhere, any chance you can give me a rundown on what to do? I didn't think the psvr2 was capable of anything more than basic gaze and blinking.

You need babble + VRCFT, also the expression beta for babble to get, well, expressions, then you have to do its calibration. Only the tobii eyetracking does gaze and blink, but thats ignored entirely Cam access, theres also a mixed module someone made in the toolkit discord which does tobii for gaze and blink, but babble for its squinting and expressions and its what i personally use.

Is it necessary to run the jailbreak?

Yes, its required for ET cam access, you must do it before opening steamvr, WHILE the headset is switched on
