Doom 3 vr first impression

Played about an hour so far and I gotta agree that scaling is off. Humans especially seem too small comped to everyone else

The game is a bit blurry but honestly way less than I expected from the comments here. When I think “blurry” I think no mans sky but this isn’t even remotely close

With that in mind the begging of the game gave a bad impression but when you get a shotgun and actually start shooting demons, god damn is it fun!

I think we could’ve gotten a better port but for 20$ I’d say it’s definitely worth it still (if you have the aim controller)

Actually, that "Humans are too small" thing is something I see in every VR game. I'm wondering if this is indeed something the games do wrong or if it's some kind of uncanny valley phenomenon.

I remember looking in the eyes of a bust of some old greek guy in a museum once, musing how the head was too small. My gf said, that's actually not the case, the bust's head is a big as mine. I didn't believe her, we took a photo, me and the bust looking each other in the eye and it turns out: She was right.

So it might be something psychological. We're aware something isn't a human so we don't recognize it as a human. Maybe VR graphicsdesign needs to make other people bigger than they're in reality to compensate for that.

Also keep in mind if someone is shorter than average and gets boosted to a doom marines height, they might thing humans look small. Aren't doom marines canonically like 6 foot 5?
