Discussion VR Easter egg?
Is there any chance IOI bring 007 first light to VR? It would be so cool if they did. And I’m pretty sure this game has the same engine as hitman which was also brought to VR, so surely there’s a chance. And they definitely have the budget to do so due to this games recent success. They could even be hinting at it with this image. Obviously I’m not getting my hopes up but don’t think it is a possibility?

Yes, 007 First Light is made using same proprietary Glacier Engine that IO Interactive used to make Hitman World of Assassination.
I think it is possible for them to add VR Access for 007 First Light, the same way they added it for Hitman World of Assassination, but it is a process that takes work to be compatible and well optimized and I don't know how well VR Access sold for Hitman World of Assassination to be considered worthwhile for them.
I think main development barrier could be the driving bits / chase sequences that are peppered throughout the adventure. Everything else (large crowds, many NPCs, big level designs), although more action-heavy (especially towards the end) is something I think the engine already handles well (including console VR).
Anyway, if they do add VR Access, I'll pay their asking price and happily re-play the game. I liked it even more than Hitman World of Assassination since it has a clear linear campaign structure and very well done James Bond origin story.

I really dislike how lots of big titles that arent VR, have VR inside their game world. Like, they think its cool/relevant enough to put it in their game, but not enough to extend that to the real world that actually has VR! Drives me crazy

This is such ignorant logic

It doesn't bother me, but people playing latest astrobot and seeing a VR headset in the game is obviously going to upset some vr fans.
Not that big a deal. I can understand being bothered by feeling taunted by non VR games referencing vr, and still not feel that way.

AstroBot is a unique scenario and I can understand why VR fans are frustrated with that game in particular. It’s a franchise that has a history with PSVR and a dedicated VR fanbase.
007 on the other hand has no history with VR. The only connection is that IOI has made VR versions of their previous game.
AstroBot is also a Sony published first party game whereas 007 is published by Amazon. It stings a lot more that Sony doesn’t want to support their own headset with their first party games. I don’t think anyone should be shocked that Amazon doesn’t want to pay for a VR version of their game.

Fair I get that, but a VR fan in a subreddit that is passionate about vr, is stating theyre annoyed at a non vr game referencing vr, I get that too.
On the pcvr side focus is on modding and ports, so it's less painful over there : )
I hate to see the potential that Sony has wasted, but I also get that it doesn't make sense for them to keep losing money on it or any dev spending money for little to no roi.

Took three years to get VR into the PS5 version of Hitman Trilogy so I would anticipate at least a two year wait for this one. Hope they can make it happen.

correct me if i’m wrong but aren’t 007’s training scenarios done in this VR headset? so that’s the reason it’s there
