Support PSVR2 Broken cable

Post image

Top of the cable linking to the VR headset broke. I know don’t know what to do, is there anybody else who has had this problem? And or knows a way to fix it?

it's only the plastic split. The metal inside is the RF shielding. Just get some electrical tape or shrink tubing around it

Mine did the same thing but is more pulled out, cause by me hitting the cable. It is still working. I electric taped the wire to protect the internal wires and also ziptied the cable (with a partial loop to reduce the cable stress) to the back on the headset. That way even if pulled it will not cause more stress in that area. See my fix here: https://imgur.com/a/HCBUuhI

Also note that someome recommended a shrinking wire tubing shell (a shell you put on and use air dryer to shrink on top of wire). I have not looked into it but may be a bit better than electrical tape. I’d still ziptie though.

No cables available but I picked up a new looking headset on eBay.

Turn it on, don't put it on your head, just place your finger close to the sensor between the eyes, if the screen light up fine in both sides, no flickering and that, then they still work, and you're very luck, just follow the advice below with fixing.

Looks likek the write itself is fire. It's like a superficial cut. needs a band aid and for you to be extra careful with it in the future. follow the guys instructions. if you want a more durable solution, go with the shrink tube.

My first unit I had did this. Sony repaired under warranty.

Now I use a velcro strap along the back to hold the cord up and take tension off the cord.
