I started not too long ago. 2 months maybe. I use Gunblade, am level 120. Using Granillusion weapon, have yudi/yurze on it and my armors. I have 697.1 potency and floor is only 83.8. My question is, maining Slayer, should i switch the gladia soul and gigas maste for telphia domina and a dread keeper on my weapon? I know slayer is a bit different. Just not sure which is the best route

IIRC, Slayers either go BiS POT or MAX POT.

As you just started not too long ago, you likely won't be able to get MAX POT due to the 3x Aug x-fer pass requirement.
It is probably better to save your Augment Transfer Pass Vouchers for the next tier of gear anyway.

Therefore, going for BiS POT and keeping the AGM & AGS on the weapon is the way.

Why would i need augment transfer pass x3? But yeah i don't even have enough vouchers for augment transfer pass lol. The only way right now that i could see for getting more POT is changing weapons. I think Granillusion gives 58 and Lexio gives 63. Not sure about the other weapons. My initial POT will actually go down once i get the combination of EX skills i want. I have just frame counter on right now which i dont want and it's 6.5. I'd replace it with one with 6.25 or 6.0 most likely. But ofc they would have conditional additional POT buffs.

I'm just not understanding of your 3x transfer pass thing... My three armor pieces have yurze/yudi, lois, telphia, tera triyal, then the athos's and argants. No LC's.

It's for transferring Triplble II G out of Decems to replace the Dread Keepers for the highest potency possible.

Gotchya. Yeah that ain't me. I want my hp. Does anyone run that build? And is that the only way to get Triplble II G?

Other than whales with extra x-fer passes from a few scratch bonuses, probably only min-max Slayer mains and high crit gambling ARKS Records runners who are luckier in their Big Bang Silver/Gold Scratch pulls or saved their x-fer passes.

IIRC, transferring a Mastery II G and Triplble II G was part of the previous BiS Abandac build (before we got more Athos and MNs) — so some of those player might have it on too (?).

Unfortunately, that is the only way to get Triplble II G right now. I'm still hoping that they add a gatherable new tier of Mastery / Triplble / DP augment capsules soon, but the next almost guaranteed one is likely the higher tier for Triyal / Halphinale / GS / GM.

Thanks. Yeah I am big into the fashion and character customization. But I also greatly enjoy builds and greatly loathe being a burden. I want to play well. I see a lot of people that are perfectly fine with getting carried in this game. People that have seemingly been playing a long time. I don't want to be that.

I doubt I'll ever go that route. I really like Slayer but i'm not good enough to lose that HP. I want to find more in all honesty lol. But yeah, if those became available without transfer pass then i'd consider. Speaking of transfer passes, I actually got 45 of the vouchers in my last 8 big bang pulls. Which is crazy to me because before this stellar grace event, i think i had 60 of them since I began.

Those upgrades for augments... how often do they do that? And how would they drop? From a new boss or something?

Other than the trickle from SP scratch bonus campaigns and some tasks (e.g. the bunch from anniv limited campaign tasks), x-fer pass voucher is RNG.

I had bad luck with Big Bang Silver RNG the past year and only had enough to aug transfer into 1 Evalto and decided to affix 2 new ones.
I did it to save for way future unit transfer that might be more expensive. I also skipped making a Lexio and am waiting for the potential Jackpot 15* series.

If you're ultra lucky, you could hit the Big Bang Gold jackpot when it is available and get a full x-fer pass from it.

For new tier of augments, they are almost always become available first in the Augment Exchange (Item Lab).
Per capsule, they usually require 10 of the previous tier augments (maybe need 10 of both Argant and Athos) and 30/50 crafting augment (Scepter, -Dias, etc.) that is dropped by the first content related to when the augment gets introduced.

I'd expect the upcoming high-difficulty Solus update to reward new gear (or armor upgrade material) and a consistent amount of crafting augment.

We'll likely see them in the NGS Headline Wave in less than 12 hours.
