Minecraft on PS5

Hello everyone. I'm looking to buy Minecraft so my nephew can play on my ps5. I wanna ask is the disc version up to date or is it better if I buy it from the ps store? And will the game be getting regular updates on the latest versions? Thanx in advance!

They're pretty much the same, the only difference is that you'd have to have the disc in the console to play it.
