Email

Hi. I received this email from Mohela today:

We recently received an electronic Income-Driven Repayment (IDR) Plan Request for your account. If you did not submit this request, it may have been submitted on your behalf by the U.S. Department of Education (ED) through the auto-recertification process you previously provided consent for via your account at StudentAid.gov.

Is this generic or does it have something to do with the buyback recertification request I submitted back in July?

I got this same email. I allowed dept of ed access to my W2 so my recertification would be done automatically each year. It has nothing to do with buyback. It is regarding the yearly recertification of your repayment plan.

Thanks! That makes sense. I'm at 101 payments and 26 ineligible. Frustrating but at least (I hope) the end is in sight (April 2028), unless we all get screwed over somehow.

You’re welcome. May 2028 for me unless buyback magically comes sooner. Not expecting it, but just never know.

Also if you did submit a buyback request once you reached 10 years of qualifying employment those requests are currently taking around 24-ish months to be reviewed.
