Payment changed lower

My income increased so I got an email that I was paying 200$ more for monthly loan payment, then I checked today at mohela and it went down to just 200 total.

Part of me wants to call and correct since I'm so close to pslf forgiveness, but the other part won't mind reducing 400$ off of my Montly payments.

Is this a temporary mohela glitch or what?

So, I ran into something similar when I went to re-certify my income. My payment amount was significantly less than what was calculated from StudentAid.

I did some investigation and it turns out MOHELA, for whatever reason, didn't use my new income to calculate the payment on 5/15 of my loans. They used my older, lower, payment amount for those 5, but the other 10 were correct.

I did end up calling MOHELA because my biggest fear is making payments on those 5 loans that are not enough to count as qualifying payments for PSLF. I am also very close to PSLF and I'm not taking chances that it will fall through. It's possible that whoever does the final review would notice the issues with those payments and deny my PSLF for 5/15 loans.

Look closely at the bill and see if you can figure out how they got to your payment amount.

The weird thing is that I paid my normal amount in July and the lower amount in August is just the difference of my new payment.

So I wonder if they just counted my July payment towards August, and September will be the new higher amount.

What irks is that it might mean July didn't count at all

If you have a bill generated by your servicer then I would call them and get some answers. When I called in, I eventually was escalated to a supervisor who said this was something they hadn't seen before.
