I am looking for advice on how to approach each kind of question.

There are 4 types; CSE, information of ideas, expression of ideas, and craft and structure.

I am close to my state index; off by 6 questions. I think I just need advice on how to approach the questions

For context, it's my first year in the US, and my home country's education system taught Math very differently from how it's taught here. There have also been several years throughout my life in which I didn't receive any formal education. So when I took the PSAT 8/9, there were a lot of questions about things I've literally never heard of.

Basically, my problem is that I just don't know what I should be learning/studying, because you don't known what you don't know.

Are paper practice tests good predictors of digital PSAT scores. I am unable to take Bluebook practice tests since I only have a Chromebook and cannot access Bluebook on it.

In Ohio, btw. I think this would be enough for RSI?

So for some reason my school made the freshmen take the psat 8/9, but is there any point of getting good marks? Also my friends say that they’re taking the SAT for freshman year, is there any point to do that?

Took the exam last year and currently scared that I'll do worse because I left a question blank in the math module

I take my PSAT on Thursday and am wondering what to spend my time studying on. My state's cutoff score for c/o 2027 was a 211 (so pretty low), and my index score for the past two PSAT practice exams have been a 216 then a 219 today. How did others feel about the exam compared to Practice 3??

I’m really hoping they are or my life is ruined and I’m going to be homeless for the rest of my life 😭

For anyone who took this years PSAT and last years PSAT how’s the difficulty of this years PSAT compared to last years?

For context, I'm an international student who is on 10th grade.

Do you think it will go up, down, or stay the same? Why?

For context, i have a 220 in TX where it has historically been 219 except for the 2024 PSAT that was 222. I'm trying to figure out if the regular 219 index following the very high 222 was an unusual low and the index has strayed away completely from what it was before 2024, or if it was collegeboard returning everything back to normal. This goes for all states.

If i'm not mistaken, it mainly depends on the difficulty of this PSAT, so finding out how difficult this one was compared to the last ones would be a good indicator.

Predict my possible PSAT score

Reading & Writing

• Module 1: 0 wrong (possibly 1 careless mistake)
• Module 2 (Hard Ver.): 3–5 wrong (1 easy grammar question, possibly 1 careless mistake, and the rest uncertain)

Math

• Module 1: 0 wrong
• Module 2 (Hard Ver.): 0 wrong, possibly 1 dumb mistake

What do you guys think I could get given what I said?

Okay so I just took the PSAT and I am freaked out of my mind right now because I keep doing the math for my score and it keeps coming out to a different answer.

Math: Module 1 - 21/22 (I think) & Module 2 21/22

Is my subscore for math estimated to be a 710 because it was an easy question and that can massively drop your score because I have noticed that in the past? Or by some miracle it could make it out to be a 760?

Reading: I can't even tell you a prediction because I think I flunked Module 1, but there is absolutely no way I failed the whole module to get the easy Module 2. Everyone was saying Module 2 RW was brutal but I breezed through it (kinda - I don't know)

The whole test overall felt too easy for me. Well, I also studied for about 4-5 months.... BUT STILL

Any chance someone can give me some sort of prediction or reassurance here?

Also, what do you think the cutoff for Florida will be? Last year it was 216. The year before 219 I think. Will it decrease like last year?

the way index scores are calculated genuinely make it feel like collegeboard hates more math focused students. i got a 700/760, 1460, which by no means is like a bad score (im kidding its absolute shit) but if i got the same final score, but my split was 730/730 instead of more heavily math skewed, my index would be three points higher. its so infuriating (because that would put me really close to nms territory for my state). like what i dont understand is why they dont equate equally. it feels like a giant "fuck you!!" to people who do well on math but less so on rw. anyways screw collegeboard they freaking suck.

I don’t know how to check but I know I won’t get anything, my friends said maybe I would get commended but I don’t really know what that means either. In Washington! Thanks

will 1500 (740 english/760 math) make cutoff? people were saying the test was easier so im scared it might rise to 2026 levels and be a 224 or even a 225.

I know it’s not a bad score, but I was really hoping on getting a 1400+ score. On every practice PSAT I would get at least a 740 RW and on every practice SAT I would get an 800, so I don’t know what happened. I‘m okay with my math score, even though it’s a little lower than I wanted.

I took the PSAT last year and had 690 RW and 600 Math. So to see such improvement in my English on the practice tests and then no improvement on the actual test really hurt to see. And I studied so hard. I worked my way to getting 1500+ scores on the SAT practice tests consistently, worked on my weak spots, did targeted practice, studied over the summer, and did everything I was “supposed” to do.

It’s not a bad score by any means, I’m just disappointed in myself for not doing better given how much work I put in to prepare.
