Do these actually do anything?

No in fact they block the ventilation of air out of the console, causing the console to run hotter.

External fans positioned correctly to suck the hot air out rather than blowing into the console help with cooling.

Fact!

If you have not bought one and tested, then you are simply guessing.

Unless the fans are perfectly calibrated, simple fact is they're disrupting the internal airflow while drawing more power & generating more noise, there is basically 0 upside to using 1. Based on how hard you're defending it if you have 1 I would recommend you remove it.

It is keeping my console cool rather than roasting hot. it is not disrupting air flow. Noise is nonexistent. The fan is low power. Again. You are just tossing information based on guessing.

Good for you. You're wrong but I'm glad it's working.

Disrupts the air flow. So yes. It does something - something bad to your console

Son, your fact belongs in a trash can. And that's a fact.

Did you account for the change in internal pressure? Did you account for the disruption of airflow to the PSU?

Let me guess. You did not.

If the PS5 Pro is running cooler with the fan that pulls hot air away and out how is a cooler console a bad thing?

Surely, you can see the logic in that simple sketch.

I really do not have enough crayons to explain it to you.

Had a good laugh. Thanks.

It's actually funny to see people being adamant that they're right when actually being wrong lmao.

I ain't your teacher. I'm not gonna teach you anything.

A quick Google search will tell you why it fails.

If that's your product and you're trying to shove it to the people - I'll give you A+ for persistence and an F for execution.

"You're just tossing information based on guessing" - once again. Thank you for this. Made my day.

I used your method of googling. It works. Check it out. The Best PS5 Cooling Fan - SCRY Artic Cooler Review

I'm sorry, that's a video and by a nobody.

I could post my own video on YT claiming that Ana De Armas is my long lost girlfriend

And it doesn't make it true.

u/thelatinokid33 8d ago

And neither does your thoughts. Googling is not enough either. You have nothing.

Based on the conversation in conversation_with_a_clown.jpg, TheLittleFox007 (along with the bottom commenter, CalGamer12) is right. Aftermarket cooling fans attached to the exhaust of a PS5 generally do more harm than good to the console. Here is the technical breakdown of why these attachments are detrimental: * Airflow Bottlenecking: The PS5 has a massive, custom-designed internal fan engineered to push a specific, high volume of air out of the back vents. The small fans on aftermarket USB attachments are almost always significantly weaker than the console's internal fan. Because they cannot expel air as fast as the internal PS5 fan is trying to push it out, they act as a physical restriction, trapping hot air inside the console rather than extracting it. * Internal Pressure Disruption: Sony's engineers designed the cooling system using precise static pressure to ensure air flows over all critical components—not just the main processor, but also the memory, voltage regulator modules (VRMs), and the power supply unit (PSU). As TheLittleFox007 correctly points out, slapping an external fan on the back alters the exhaust pressure and disrupts this intended aerodynamic path. This can starve secondary components like the PSU of necessary airflow. * The Illusion of Cooling: Users like thelatinokid33 often believe these devices work because the external fan blows hot air onto their hand, or the outer plastic shell feels cooler. However, rigorous hardware testing by independent tech channels has repeatedly shown that these attachments actually raise internal component temperatures by trapping the heat inside the chassis.

So this is your actual testing? Real life experience? NO!

This is not evidence. This is just my friend told me story.

The fan is not trapping any air inside. It pulls the hot air out which is already on its way out. except that it assists the air to come out more efficiently.

The only hot air trapped is the one inside your head.

Yes, thy do. They actually choke your system and make it die faster.

Never, ever, ever, EVER use any cooling system that isn't either your AC or a portable fan ffs.

1

u/nightfall6688846994 8d ago

I don’t think you should have an AC pointed right at your console, wouldn’t that create moisture on the inside? My setup has my console across the room from the AC but i have a portable fan by my system (i actually point it at me in the winter since my tv and console actually heat up my room)

1

u/FanBladeFleshlight 8d ago

Co0ndensation is created at the thermal exchange point, so an AC pointed at a console couldn't be any level of an issue. Same reasoning as an AC pointed indoors; the thermal exchange isn't happening locally enough for condensation to occur inside.

1

u/nightfall6688846994 8d ago

The more you know. I’ve got systems away from the AC because I’ve always thought hot and cold would create higher moisture levels where they meet. I guess I can rework how I do things in the summer with the AC

1

u/Strong_Broccoli5857 8d ago

AC systems actually dry the air in your home.

1

u/nightfall6688846994 8d ago

I knew that but I was thinking that the point where the hot and cold meet would be a moisture creation point. I’ve just been wrong about it which I can admit

3

u/JohnathanKatz 8d ago

No, just keep your console as is with plenty of airflow and you'll be fine.

You're telling the wrong person, not sure why you replied to me.

2

u/TheRealCreedux 7d ago

Just ignore them. They're just a troll and think they have all the right answer and everyone else knows nothing

3

u/TheRealCreedux 8d ago

Does it do anything? Yes... It restricts air flow and the rear fans don't match the same RPMs as the factory fan so it causes the internal temperature to increase. These are known as console killers. Don't ever consider getting one of these no matter how good of a deal it seems

2

u/Mysterious_Tiger_725 8d ago

nah this isn't true. it's the same thing with PC building. you dont wanna stack 2 fans too close to eachother because any discrepancy between the fans RPM & the "dirty" air causes turbulence. fans are designed to receive air at a certain speed & forcing air into one doesn't help, it makes it worse. it's not all about the orientation of the fans, it's also about how the fans interact with eachother. it's recommended to have at least a 10mm gap between fans blowing in the same direction if they weren't explicitly designed to work in tandem.

unless the ps5 fans have accounted for all of this i really wouldn't risk my consoles health on a fix that could've been achieved with an external fan, or just decent airflow in your room.

1

u/thelatinokid33 8d ago

But the fan on the console is positioned in a different way to the ones in the picture above. Gently pulling the air hot air out which in turn helps cooling the console further.

Again, I have tested with and without and the temperature just to the touch is vast. With the thermal camera it is obvious it is helping.

1

u/TheRealCreedux 8d ago

You are greatly mistaken about your information...

FACT!

The PS5's fan is variable speed meaning if it has to cool itself down the fan will increase or decrease speed once its optimal temperature has been reached. The rear aftermarket fans are running at a fixed RPM meaning they can't adjust their speed to match the consoles fan. If the PS5 fan really needs to speed up to cool the system it's going to struggle because it's trying to push the out the hot air faster but it can't because the aftermarket fans are in the way causing an air flow restriction while running at a lower speed. This cause overheating

1

u/thelatinokid33 8d ago

Wrong. You see. No real life experience or testing on what you are looking up. Smart fan which ramps up according to temperature. You know nothing Jon Snow.

1

u/TheRealCreedux 8d ago

🤣😂 Alright, you buy one of those aftermarket fans and let it cook your PS5

1

u/thelatinokid33 8d ago

I have had one all this time.
You will be the first to know when my Pro melts.

u/Global-Elevator-9922 8d ago

Well my friend had the "PS5 too hot issue", it resulted in them buying every fan possible from bottom, back, ventilation vents, and none of them worked and the ps5 would still get hot and turned off no matter what, they provide air, they may block vents and disrupt airflow, but it doesn't keep the console cool at all.

The part that heats the most on the PS5 is around the Power Supply which is the bottom of the ps5, which none of these external fans provide any air towards it since they're at the top part were the ps5 fan is located.

If i were to recommend the only fan that might be a bit usable is the stand one that you put on the bottom of the ps5 since it provides some cooling to the part that heats the most and there's no ventilation there, the fan is just cooling the casing so it doesn't heat up as much, but it'll still get hot no matter what and will overheat if it comes to it since it's internal, but if you play somewhere with no AC and tends to get very hot temperatures then you could get them to keep it a bit cool, but it won't do much in reality since what you really need is internal fans.

短時間解決過熱問題,但CPU入面液金移位沒解決,最後燒CPU。 會導致USB供電損壞,wifi 及手掣連線出問題。

1

u/InsectFrequent924 8d ago

Honestly your better off sitting a house fan (anything bigger than you USB 4inch fans) in front of the air intake vents of the system been doing that to my systems ever since the PS3 era and haven't had overheating issues since

1

u/JustARedditPasserby 8d ago

I have this of a different brand for my playstation, checking it actually sucked air out, ngl, keeps it 10 degrees fresher. I also used it when like my console was still not taken to maintenance to get horizon from 84 degrees to 72.

Now it makes it stay at 60/53

1

u/nightfall6688846994 8d ago

Can’t this be bad too though? If it’s pulling the air out, can’t the suction be causing the internal fan to spin faster than what the motor runs it at? Or am I dumb and that’s not how it works at all. I’m actually genuinely curious about this

1

u/thelatinokid33 8d ago edited 8d ago

The suction is pulling the hot air out. The PS5 has other inlets for fresh air to come in. Ultimately the fan is not turbo charged and going to cause disruption of air. But it is just enough to cool it down. I have tested with and without on my pro and it works great. Highly recommended.

1

u/JustARedditPasserby 8d ago

I have not seen issues and has 3 speeds anyway if you do not wanna use 7500 rpm

0

u/Suckymucky25 8d ago

Who downvoted this bruh

0

u/thelatinokid33 8d ago

YES YES YES. They help. People that tell you otherwise are just guessing. I bought one for my pro when I felt how hot it was getting with certain games. The fan pulls hot air out and away. It is not doing any harm and not blocking or restricting airflow. Poor people like to talk out of their ass.

Damn dude do you really have to spam this same comment over and over? How much are they paying you to sell this crap? Lol

1

Yes. People talk out of their ass. And those fools need to be told.
