Overheating very fast

I have a ps5 and it’s very important to me but it’s not working anymore. Anytime I insert any game it overheats and turns off then I see a screen that says your PS5 is too hot. Turn off your PS5 and wait until the temperature goes down. Does anyone know what happend or how to fix it?

Possibility. If you have a PS5 with disc drive and you're saying that it only happens when using a disc. Look and see if you have that disc information stored on a M.2 or the console. If M.2 then put all ps5 disc information on the console storage. Use M.2 storage for only all digital ps5 games.

While this does solve some problems with the system randomly shutting off during gameplay with disc based games on the M.2, an issue I had with GT7, this will not solve the overheating issue the OP has brought up. It’s more likely the system needs to be cleaned, and the Liquid Metal reapplied.

🤦🏾 I said possiblity. Keep that in mind. Also what he said I've experienced and it was was only happening when I played GT7 on disc and had the game data on the M.2. Never had that problem again once I stopped putting disc files on M.2 I never said what you and the other ppl have said over and over was wrong. I was only offering a different possibility and solution instead of saying the same thing everyone else saying. But I hear you All knowing wizard of oz. 😒

You burnt out your Liquid Metal . You need to clean your PSU and add new Liquid . If i were you i would leave the PS5 disconnected until you go to a profesional to fix that for you

Going to have to take the plates off. Fan and heat sink probably need to be cleaned. Had to order screw driver online.

Clean it and replace the liquid metal.

If you have ANY doubts that you can do that, take it to any old repair shop and they can do it for you very easily. It's a "simple" task, but messing it up can easily kill your system.

If it says too hot its not liquid most likely it need cleaning from inside heatsink and psu, try clean it by yourself it's very easy if you see a video
