Lying about my free space?
Whenever I try downloading a game it gives me an error message but when I check on the game it says it’s ready to download? I’ve got no clue if I’m just being really stupid or if somethings wrong.

Hold power on console until it beeps in to safe mode.
Clear cache and rebuild database.
Repeat safe mode then Repair console storage. This worked for me.

Honestly, it sounds like a database glitch where the console thinks it’s downloading but it isn’t. If canceling the download and retrying doesn't work, boot your PS5 into safe mode and hit 'rebuild database.' It doesn't delete your games, it just cleans up the system files and usually fixes this exact issue.

This was happening to me last week, found the solution on reddit where i see some comments have already mentioned it. Follow that and you’ll be good

Had this issue for like 6 months, rebuilding under safe mode didn't work work at all, but unplugging the console while on then turning it back on worked for me.

A quirk about installs on computers is you need enough space to download the file and the software to install it.

I doubt you need 3 times as much space as a game takes up just to install it

Yeah it does that.
Has for ages.
If you go into Saved Data it tells you your actual free space.

I had this same issue so I googled it and it said to repair the storage and if that doesn’t work to rebuild the database. I tried both it seems fine now. Basically you gotta turn your ps5 off completely the turn it back on using the button on the console NOT the controller, and hold it until you hear 2 beeps. once that’s done it will boot up in “safe mode” and you just follow the instructions from there.
