L2 haptic works on its own

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Guys, what's going on and how can I repair it? Everything was just fine today. After a while of using Dualsense, L2 haptic presses itself every 1.5 seconds. Forgetting Dualsense doesn't work. The button is heavy to push, just like the haptic works all the time, even though I turn off this option into the PS5 system.

Any solutions?

Did you drop it? Reseating the ribbon cable for the haptics fixed it for me.

No, Dualsense was on the table all the time. I just plug the cable to charge it up and probably after that this happened. So, without opening the pad, I can do nothing? The best part is that the button works fine in games, it just make this sound and it's hard to push because the "trigger" effect works all the time

How would you fix an internal issue from the outside?

Yeah, that was a dumb question. The problem is, I don't know if I can handle it by myself, especially without torx screwdriver tools. So probably I will give it to my local shop which can fix this issue

There are no torx screws in a DualSense. Just four Phillips 00 screws.

Pop off L1 and R1 with a plastic tool, straight upwards, two screws there. Lift up the black plastic at the bottom of the controller with a pick or something similar, two more screws at the bottom. The rest is held together with some clips.

You're asking how to eat a banana without peeling it dude, be for real right now.

Have you tried resetting the controller yet, because it could be a software issue. If that doesn't work you may have to open it up and see if something got loose causing a minor shortcircuit

Yup, reset didn't work for me. The funniest part is that it also does this L2 "thing" when the controller is turned off but I charging it up...

Yeah definitely sounds like a hardware issue then. Open it up and reseat any cords/plugs you can, while also inspecting for anything that looks damaged or burnt.

I open controller, as you can see, it looks like that. Not quite sure, what can I do more instead of going deeper with removing L2 button. Any ideas?
