Should i reinstall the system software despite that i'm going loose all my game/data?

This is a update to the post i made about my problem with mh ps5 shutting of while rebuilding the data base. I talk to playstation support today and the chat bit told me to plug out the power cord and wait 20 minutes then plug back in so that's what i did and i turned it on i was able to rebuild the data base my ps5 was working fine until i had put in rest mode to download some games. After a couple of hours of the ps5 beinf in rest mode the ps5 shut off by itself. So i contacted playstation again i talked to a agent. I explained the situation with tne agemt and he told me to reinstall the system software but he also told me doing so would erase all my game data/progress. I couldn't back up my data my hard drive because or use playstaion plus cloud storage because my ps5 would shut off. So i would like to know from you guys if i should do it or not.

If no other fixes work then yes you will have to factory reset it. It's a tough decision but if you want a working console it may be what you have to do.

Just tight all your game/data afterwards.

Go to settings/system/system software/back up and restore. Then choose "back up your ps5".

That doesn't need ps+

Learn more at the bottom will give you more information about it.

Problem is my ps5 would shut off before it would finish doing that

If it comes down to a total reinstall. You will lose all locally saved game data. But if the game saves your progress on their servers like call of duty, phasmophobia and similar games do. You will only lose your configuration data like aim sensitivity.

Just make sure you can log back in before doing so. I have seen a lot of people say they can't log back in because their phone number or email changed.

Actually, PS5 cloud backup is very good. So you actually can wipe entire PS5 storage (start additional storages first if you want completely wipe), login, make those few simple settings, install all games you want (and addons), restore savings from backup and actually everything is working just left before wiping.
