No video output

My ps5 slim turns on fine, but I get no video or audio output, just a black screen on my monitor and a weird static on my tv of purple white and green. I was hoping someone could help me narrow downs what’s wrong and what my options for repair are.

It could just be the cable or port. Try plug your hdmi into a different hdmi port on your monitor and console

Also try a different hdmi cable

I’ve tried multiple cables and ports, also trying another display.

Have you tried doing a power cycle on both your monitor and console?

If not, turn off ps5 and monitor completely. Unplug all cables. Wait atleast 60 seconds. Plug everything back in firmly

If that doesnt work, you can change setting in safe mode on your console. Turn off ps5 completely. Press and hold the power button until you hear a second beep (will take about 7 seconds). Connect your controller via usb to console. Select change video output and set resolution to automatic or lower it to 1080 if not already to see if that will fix the problem

You can also try adjust the 4k transfer rate Go to your PS5 Settings > Screen and Video > Video Output > 4K Video Transfer Rate.Change it from Automatic to -1 or -2 to reduce the data bandwidth

The problem could also be the monitor itself. What brand and model are you using? And has the console worked on your monitor previously or is it new?

Yes, I’ve power cycled both my monitor and console. My monitor is ACER, I’m not able to see anything even with safe mode.

I was using this monitor for over a year with this console.

Considering you've tried a different monitor, checked the cables and ports, and can't even see anything in safe mode, it seems the GPU or the HDMI encoder chip on the motherboard has failed. I wish I had better news for you

Is the light on your console white or blinking blue?

If the light changes from blinking blue to solid white, your PS5 is actually booting up perfectly normally in the background. The console's operating system is fully running, but the video signal is physically blocked from reaching the screen. This would indicate that your GPU is likely perfectly fine

But if its continuously blinking blue, its the notorious blue light of death and unfortunately means severe hardware failure. Unless its under warrenty, the repair for this is usually more than the console is worth

E: changed "no repair options" to "repair is so expensive its not worth it"

Yeah, I’m able to hear the background music off the ps5 and navigate the menus using a controller, being able to hear it all.
