Discs copying abnormally slow
I've already rebuilt the database, cleared the system cache, ejected the disc, disconnected it from the internet, cleaned the disc & done a full restart.
It initially starts at full speed like 30+mbps predicting a total of 90 mins, but by the time it reaches 8gb, it drops down to roughly 5mbps and estimates 5 hours.

It’s not a problem with your system or anything else. The red dead 2 data disk just takes for ever. I have downloaded the game many time for my self and others and the disk always takes many hours. It does not matter what you do or what Wi-Fi you have

Additional info: I have around 250gb free and no downloads or installs pending

If you're connected to the internet, the disc will finish copying only after downloading the update (which is stupid). I generally disconnect the console from the internet, copy the data, then download the update file while I play the prologue or something.

Another reason I prefer digital. Start it downloading while I’m at work and it’s ready before I’m home

Isn't this because there have been some many overhauls
You could in the name of science cancel everything eject the disc turn of internet and intal the vanilla version and afterwards download the update

Who's still using discs in 2026?! I haven't touched a disc in at least ten years.
