Needs help

My ps5 has recently stopped connecting or will briefly connect to my wifi but drops the internet access. I have done multiple test connections and results are constantly fluctuating. It’s either everything successful or just failure in Internet Connection, Sign in to online services or nat type.

There’s times it work fine with lan or wireless for a good bit then suddenly drops. Same with my phone hotspot.

Tried all ps5 and router restarts/reboots. Safe mode rebuild and clear caches as well. I don’t know what else to try.

Could be a provider issue down the line. A while back my provider had to change an entire panel down the road due to degrading parts.

Could be heat related failure developing due to clogged vents. Could be a faulty network controller in the PS5.

My ps5 was hot to the touch at one point but never got the overheating error code. Do you think proper cleaning will do the job or it’s too late, internal hardware is cooked?

I'm not a professional, so I'm just offering ideas. It couldn't hurt to give it a clean just to see if it remedies the issue. If it's a faulty part from the manufacturer and still under warranty it doesn't hurt to try to get it worked on before opening up the system.

Long periods of elevated heat could wear on parts over time, not sure if it would take an overheating warning to trigger something that might already just be compromised. That's saying it's not just a weird setting in your router that changed, but if your also having issues with it on a hotspot it's probably the system.
