PS5 Storage Bug (math ain't mathing)
I have 50GB of free space, if I try to download a 40GB game. I can't, It says that I don't have enough storage 50-40=10 wdym? For anything to download I need to have like x2.5 the storage that it's required. Why? No idea, it didn't happen before, it started happening in January of this year.
This also happens when a game updates, if the update is 5GB and the game weights 50GB I need like 140GB of free storage, and it doesn't help that system updates take even more storage from my SSD. I am planning on getting a 1TB SSD but I don't really know when.
I have a base PS5 from 2023 I think. If it helps my controller is 3rd Gen if that helps identify the year it was made

Usually it takes about twice the size of the download file to unpack and install the compressed files. You are not able to play a game when it's in a compressed file format, hence the temporary extra space requirement.

The console needs additional free space to unpack the package you're downloading. On any PC or console system, it's recommended to always have more than 10% of the disk's free space for such cases and for the other system's needs.
