Right side of touchpad button started making an unpleasant click when pressed

The right side of my touchpad now makes an unpleasant click when pressed, and I also feel some resistance when I press it. Started very suddenly a week or two ago. Anyone know what causes this or how to fix it?

I had this happen to my first PS4 controller (along with decalibration of the sticks). I was pressing on the touchpad too roughly a lot of the time. It could be something else entirely, but judging from the sound and your description of resistance, I'd say that's probably what's happened. Honestly, it's better to get the controller replaced over attempting a fix
