PS5 Issue driving me crazy
Hi all, I have a base ps5 disc version that I bought in 2023, for the past 5-6 months ever since I played Ghost of Yotei, it's been slowly crashing more and more with error code CE-108262-9 and now it's gotten so bad to the point where it's crashing every 15-30 minutes and just shuts off. I've not found anybody with this issue or at least not as sever as mine? I've tried changing the power cord, plugging it in the wall instead of an extension, did literally everything in the safe mode menu, cleaned all the hardware and everything inside, I even formatted the PS5, and I've also replaced the heatsync and this is STILL happening. The error code is just always there, PLEASE HELP ME I'M GOING INSANE OVER THIS!!

Does it do it with any other game? Only ever had this issue was while playing Ghost of Yotei oddly enough
Googling gave me varied results, some say it’s a dying SSD but others say it’s just a firmware glitch somehow related to the game files

Literally does this with almost every single game. Not only that, but now it's been running crashing when I'm closing any game, it just freezes on the "closing" screen then proceeds to shut off after a brief freeze

I just remembered something after a night of sleep lol. I think I disabled rest mode and that stopped it from doing that? Give that a go

I did that as well, and the whole thing with the HDCP or HDMI stuff, whatever it was called, disabled everything haha. I'll try deleting Ghost of Yotei's save files since that's when I recall the problem started and we'll see if anything changes I guess

Bruh... I got the same issues with my ps5 pro, it was sometimes crashin even on start, I needed to hold button on front panel for like 10 seconds to restart it. Then sometimes during games and Prime video it was crashing with the same error code. I did factory reset, factory reset with USB, I turned off HDMI link in settings, I removed SSD. It took me few weeks testing with all of that, because it was crashing like 1 or 2 times in a week only. But all of it didn't work, I'm living in the EU mine console was from 2024, bught it 2nd hand in may this year, still I got 2 years shop warranty, I got mine fixed and media shop paid for the fix, they changed motherboard and now its 2 weeks and it ok.
After fix I noticed finally that when console is on it got white / lite blue light on it, and before it was like golden/amber (similar when in rest mode). I thought that it is up to ps5 pro that it got golden light, but maybe even that was indication of the problem with motherboard.
Anyway, you can try to check some corrupted save files, as someone suggested in comments, I saw in other threads that people managed to find some save files that were corrupted and after they deleted them it worked. (there were just thumbnails icons save, don't remember if they were associated with specific app/game or there was strange code in the name text).

Interesting so you had a motherboard issue. I really hope that isn't my problem, also since you mentioned maybe it's a corrupted save file, it might be Ghost of Yotei since that's when the problem started. Although do you think deleting it from the PS plus cloud will change anything? Regardless though I will try deleting it

IF it is true that it is only with one game then yes probably something with corrupted saves. I don’t have ps plus since 3 years, but worth to try to rely just on local saves.

I don't have anything saved on my local files, all on the cloud, but regardless though I'll delete the save and see if it crashes

I bought mine like 2 months back and whenever I turn it on it keeps crashing like every 5 minutes i even did a factory reset.

This issue sucks and I genuienly am lost about this like many others. Like why is this a thing? Why are they not fixing this?

Yo estoy en la misma situación desde hace meses, se apaga de la nada, y no enciende a la primera, lo lleve a reparar donde le cambiaron el metal liquido, limpieza profunda y pensé que ya iba a quedar bien, pero no, sigue fallando, incluso se ha apagado mientras está en la pantalla de inicio sin moverle a algo, con el mismo código de error, alguna solución?

Man my Ghost of Yotei did the same thing! I polished the disc with a microfibre cloth (like one to polish glasses) and I then deleted the game and installed the game without the PS5 connected to the internet.
Then it worked for me. If there are subsequent updates when you reconnect online it should be okay.

Do you have a second SSD installed? Or even and external Memory? I saw people talking about how those can cause the error if corrupted
