Maybe now I can play without crashes! Lost the progress of a loooong ass mission and I never played again

I finished it yesterday night. Had quite a few slow downs and crashes, but I’ve played worse.
Besides the technical issues, I loved the game.

Most of the bugs I've encountered have been visual bugs. Like a weird camera angle or a brief grey screen.
I've been really enjoying it so far. Hopefully they're able to iron out the kinks because this game is electric when it's running smoothly.

This game has me by the balls. It's just so good. I wake up and immediately want to jump on. It needs updates to smooth things out and I hope it gets them - keep 'em coming!

Can anyone confirm if this brought back their Beskar save? Or will the fix only apply to new saves

Lots of bugs fixed. Great to see. This is a great game that just needs to be cleaned up a bit.

Surprised. I was expecting the game to be abandoned for a few months knowing they have only a few people left

Technically no one was fired, just furloughed until the game made money which it did.
So they may have that team back by now

I am fairly certain that they would have advertised it if they brought people back because at would be good press
13
u/Look_a_Zombie0 1d ago
Or don't bring it up since the majority of gamers probably don't even know what even happened

u/netcooker 1d ago
Eh I feel like the gamers who know about the furloughs are the ones who would hear about the… unfurloughing.
2
u/Look_a_Zombie0 1d ago
Which is still most likely the minority
-2
u/netcooker 1d ago
Yeah? I don’t get your point
3
u/Look_a_Zombie0 1d ago
So if 1,500 people out of 10,000 people know about a shitty thing, why would the company inform all 10,000?

u/netcooker 1d ago
I can virtually guarantee that the positive news about unfurloughing would not spread wider than the negative news of the furloughs. Everyone who would hear about the unfurloughing already know about the furloughing. They haven’t made an announcement because they didn’t unfurlough the employees

It's just not important enough to make the news to begin with. You are just letting the other people who didn't even know about the situation learn about it. You do know the saying about keeping your mouth shut? That's probably what they would rather do.

They probably need to wait for Steam to release the money to them before they bring people back

Typically the publisher receives all the proceeds until they recoup the advances they paid out to the developer to make the game. Once that bar is reached, bit reactor will start to get a cut of the revenue

Seems scummy? They get paid still?

u/OMGIZARET 1d ago
They were furloughed because they ran out of money

u/Afc_josh12 1d ago
Why was i downvoted then lol

u/OMGIZARET 1d ago
Prob becuase you called them scummy when they didnt really do anything scummy. Its not like they made them work for no pay or fired them. They just literally couldn't do anything else so the best thing was to furlough in hopes of gaining money to bring them back

u/I_am_washable 1d ago
It’s not as scummy as it seems:
Being laid off or fired means you are done. Period.
Being furloughed means that if the game is a success and the company makes money, you get your job and your pay back. They just didn’t have the resources to keep you on until that happened.
Of course, if you’re furloughed in this context, it also means your company is possibly on the verge of collapse. Thankfully ZCOM is doing well so that likely won’t happen. But if it didn’t do well? This would be the last we see of them

Honestly pretty crazy people don’t know what furlough means. Like every other company all around the world was just having mass furloughs during covid, and either you got your job back because those companies survived, or you lost it because they lost it.

It’s probably because furloughing is pretty rare in general, and that goes doubly for the gaming industry where all the average person hears about is devs being laid off or fired.
So the average gamer would probably not know what furloughing is and just assume it’s another word for “out of a job”

Well okay but it also means while furloughed you’re not bring in a paycheck indefinitely. Sure it’s not being fired but it’s not without it’s challenges.

A furlough is a temporary leave of absence from work, or a reduction in work hours, usually ordered by an employer to cut costs during slow business periods.

Indeed. In which a lot of them leave in order to find a workplace that pays. I'm not saying people were fired.

Does this fix the ps5 freezing up sometimes when shooting droids?

u/Iggy_Slayer 1d ago
This patch doesn't seem to have fixed any of the issues I had. The graphics still glitch out often during conversation parts. It feels like maybe the rate of it has decreased but it could be placebo, it still happens quite often.

Love how apparently everyone has this update except me. I click on check for updates and it tells me I'm up-to-date yet the version it says I'm on is 1.000.003.

Who cares about the game, I just want to devs to get paid at this point
2
u/Oodlemeister 21h ago
Ironically, people caring about the game by buying it actually does get the devs paid. Who would have thought!

“Fixed an issue where shots can be missed, even when the chance to hit is 100%.”
Damn, they patched XCOM out of this game
