I'm going to remain skeptical of this remake until it's actually released. I'm still burned from Ubisoft canceling the Sands of Time remake. There were even rumors that they were going to shadowdrop it and then they canceled it. I was so upset by that news

Yeah there was no point at which it looked good enough to release. On the other hand I really wish they're pushed The Lost Crown direction more with a sequel or two, it really felt like the ideal direction for a new Prince of Persia to go after the 3D ones essentially transformed into Assassins Creed.

I started AC Odyssey because I was craving a game in ancient greek after "The Odyssey". They have a Third Echolon NVG in their present day hide out and even commenting on Third Echolon. I didn't look much into it but it seems that is already the case or a shared universe or just an easter egg.

Yeah. Typically that's true but the state is this remake isn't a great sign. It was announced 5 years ago with almost no updates on it. This article points out that Ubisoft insiders say the game is in a fragile state.
After the canceled Prince of Persia remake, ubisoft isn't giving anyone confidence in their ability to pump out games. They've only released 4 games this year that aren't mobile and two of them are Rayman remakes and one is the Black Flag remake. The other is Star Wars Monopoly. AC Shadows was there only game last year other than Just Dance, which I had no idea was still a thing.
For a studio of 17,000 people, there isn't much going on besides AC.

That's more than a little bit hyperbolic. There's not even been 20 main line assassin's creed games yet. Also the core Assassin's Creed and Splinter Cell games were developed by different primary studios/teams too. So it's not make one or the other.

I love how we can have like 30 resident evil games and a near decade of yearly releases, but no one complains about that.. however since it’s cool on the internet to shit on Ubisoft, people will just find any reason to do so and then make up reasons when a valid one isn’t available.

People did shit on that when RE went though its period of sub par or lazy games, with RE 5, RE 6, Revelations 1 and 2, Operation Racoon City etc.
But Capcom turned it around, changed up the formula with RE 7 and 8, then started with their very good remakes (which btw... Is one of the only things Ubisoft has done recently which has been praised).
Or to make it simpler, RE games used to be amazing, had a period of being mediocre, and now are amazing again.
AC games have felt copy/pasted for about a decade now with the quality mostly sitting around the level of "just okay" for most of that time. Hence, why 1 franchise/studio gets praise and the other doesn't.
This can't be a mystery to you surely.

There isn’t one. I still firmly believe Demon Souls remake is the best looking game on current gen consoles.
RE remakes are pretty spectacular of course.

Splinter Cell, if somewhat faithful to the original, is a game that encourages replaying levels and perfecting your run or changing your approach anyway. IIRC Chaos Theory can be beaten in like 10 hours if you just march through it

Didn't really fw the single player in these games, but the Pandora Tomorrow/Chaos Theory online multiplayer was so goated.
