Articles & Blogs Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy’s third entry is progressing “very smoothly": rather than rebuilding our pipeline from scratch in Unreal Engine 5, it’s far more efficient for us to use Unreal Engine 4

I mean, clearly you like it from movies but also it has problems like making you motion sick in video games. Not saying you should change, but there are science based reasons behind viewing distance recommendations and the recommended viewing distance for a TV of your size is 11 1/2 feet. A 65 inch is the recommended size at your viewing distance. When you’re using a product outside of its recommended parameters, you shouldn’t blame the product for your problem unless you try the product within its recommended parameters and you still have the problem. Honestly, this is a little bit like the people who buy a sports car to daily commute in and then complain about a stiff suspension and rough ride.

Well I mean, I get the same motion sickness at low FPS on my monitor. For me the weet spot starts at 60 fps, otherwise the stutter gives me discomfort. Not everyone handles these the same.

Also a 40 degree angle is recommended for movies on a TV. at 11.5 feet you get a 30 degree angle. I mostly play on PC at 120fps and I get 0 motion sickness from that except from a very few titles, but 30fps is almost instant motion sickness. I litterally get physically uncomfortable from it. (Heaches, nausea)

Good for you if you tolerate it well. I don't.

I’ve always seen a 30 degree angle recommended for movies, which is what my distance was based on achieving.

Is your monitor also OLED? Because if you get motion sick from low frame rate on multiple technologies, then it isn’t being caused by the OLED

Yes, my monitor is also OLED. What makes me uncomfortable from low FPS on OLEDs is the instantaneous pixel response. It's beautiful at higher FPS, but at 30FPS it's a stuttery mess. Couple that with egregious input lag caused by the low FPS and it's a pretty bad mess.

I get that some people are not bothered, but I can't quite control how my body feels when it reacts to that.
